Dang... Why take it so personal??? I see all the time people posting, "hey it's a forum wherein people get to voice their opinions."
.....Can't I voice mine??? I NEVER made any statement about what you (specifically) NOR anyone else donated/supported/contributed etc. I DID NOT assume you nor did I assume anyone else was not contributing. My comments were stated from the generic perspective. I just think it is very unreasonable (in general) to expect something for nothing. If people are just voicing their opinions on this forum without expectation, then, great -- no harm, no foul. Bobby CDSB made a statement at the end of our interview that I wholly agreed with. And like Broken Shoulder above said, "no big deal, I'll just change my entertainment options"; meaning having disc golf coverage isn't that big a thing for him. I have no problem with that position.
Well, sure they weren't talking smack directly about the producers. They WERE talking smack about the people the producers had specifically chosen to do their commentary. So yes, it does have something to do with the producers. Again, my general opinion is that people shouldn't expect anything if they don't contribute anything. CAN the producers consider any comments? Sure they can. But I contend they should take the comments of the "I-want-something-for-nothing's" with less salt or credibility than those who do contribute. Whether or not you (specifically) or anyone is in that group, I don't know.
And no, you're not paying to voice an opinion; it's America, speak out all you want. I am just saying don't join the chorus of people all over America who complain expect something without putting in the time, effort, or resources to help find a solution. That's the way I handle my business, and my staff knows it. Bring me a problem, send in the solution with your problem. And that solution must include what that staff member himself is doing to help solve it.
I am going to refrain from any further comments on this topic, because I don't want to risk hurting the prospects that Jomez, CCDG, Smashboxx, DGPT, etc. have to get contributions for the great work that they and their commentators do. But doesn't our country revolve around the free enterprise system. To get more of what "WE" want, "WE" will ultimately have to find a way to help with the unsustainable model of disc golf coverage that had been the norm. With the few subtle changes recently, it is getting better.
