Who is/are the best player(s) without a major win? (MPO and/or FPO)

Related: who is the lowest rated player to have won a major tournament?

Do you mean actual PDGA Major, or "big" win.

I think Philo has to be up there. Chris Dickerson. Joe Rovere. Cale Leviska.

Currently I'd say Lizotte, McMahon, and Nybo.

Avery Jenkins was rated 999 winning his first major.

Lisa Fajkus on FPO.

Probably Anthon on MPO side. 3 worlds runner ups, never got there in a major as far as i know

I thought in the coverage past few days I heard Anthon won in 2007 so I double checked. Looks like he won the steady ed memorial masters NT in 2007, unless I'm reading the PGA site wrong.

Ok, sorry I'm a bit confused.. im guessing you're saying Simon and Eagle were among the lowest rated players when they won their first?
No, none of them have won a major.

NT's are not Majors.

Worlds, USDGC, Australian Open (when Played), Japan Open (when Played) European Open (when Played)... Then the Masters and FPO of the Worlds and USDGC....

to me...
Major
NT
DGPT
A-Tier
B-Tier

Though due to scope and prestige i would consider GBO and Ledgestone to be Quasi-Majors

There are up to 3 majors in a year IMO. worlds, usdgc, and EO. I would like for the PDGA to take the Major label off of tournaments that have 10 guys that can afford to fly out and play and they are the only competitive players in the field.

What disc golf tournaments are considered "Majors"?
Worlds
USDGC

Then it changes year by year between
European Open
European Masters
Scandinavian Open
Stockholm Open
Japan Open
The Players Cup
Australian Open

*The US Masters Major is not MPO, it's masters division*

Don't forget Konopiste Open and the PDGA Championships. Wasn't going to mention the PDGA Championships since it was a one-off major to replace USDGC the year they did Performance Flight only, but if you're throwing other dead events like the Players Cup on there... :)

Copenhagen Open was another one.

Disc golf and "Majors" have a weird history. You have events like Am World's, U.S. Amateur DGC and U.S. Masters that are classified as "Majors" but obviously don't have a field with the top players. Mid-Nationals is another dead "Major" with a weird format, Dave McCormack called it the "Sandbagger's World's" the year he won. U.S. Women's DGC is a legit Major for FPO, though.
