One course I play weekly has three over water shots. I carry two base plastic molds for those. Ever since I've done that, I play those holes much better. I am convinced it's because I throw knowing I really don't care if I lose the disc or not. The most surprising part of that is, no one else has copied me, and I see the pain on their faces when that favorite teebird goes sploosh.
I'm guessing that if one were to be presented with a stack of 100 Pro Terns, one could possibly find one that would fly like an Echo Star. So far, I have not seen one. I will not throw my two Echos anywhere near water. I guess I should just go ahead and buy all of the ones on eBay.
I have found that the new Star, if you can search through the plastic that one can find Star that feels like Echo Star either a Sidewinder or a Stingray, I had that Innova disc in my hand from a store a that felt like the old Eco Star. If not another solution is to leave the disc in hot weather over 90 F outside for a whole day, I did that with some Champion Shark 3 this year to get them a tad gummy like the way the old early runs of Champion were when new.
Flash is really the only one I threw for years that is now OOP. I'm throwing a PD, a CD2 and a Nemesis where I used to carry 3 Flashes. That tells you a lot about how much variation the Flash used to have.
Out of curiosity, do you leave them in direct sunlight or is it just in the shade on a hot day? I would figure sun would make plastic more stiff or brittle? But I guess if the bonds on the surface of the disc are breaking down from the UV or whatever it could result in a different feel on the surface as well, maybe more gummy or grippy like your experience.
I used to bag either a Max or a Monster. Both are OOP. I currently bag a Luster PD2 or Frontline Sabot to fill that slot (depends on the course/conditions). The Hyzerbomb website says the Sabot is the Max mold. So I guess I'm lucky that the mold is still in production just under a different name.

I would definitely like something to choose from between a firebird and an xcal at this point.
I guess the Machete will have to do for now... opcorn:
Funny you say that. I actually posted in the Slab thread not that long ago. I wanted to know if it's really as beefy as people say it is. I bought one and it's just sitting in a bin full of discs in the trunk of my car. I honestly forgot about it until you just mentioned it. I was still in "tournament mode" when I got it. I don't test out new discs very often during "tournament season". I'll only be participating in one or two tournaments until spring rolls around. I still haven't thrown the Slab yet. Thank you for reminding me. The Sabot definitely has some dome to it. If the Slab is as beefy as the Sabot, it will replace the Sabot. I prefer my beefy discs flat. Flat discs feel better in my forehand grip than domey ones.Y'all might want to look at the Infinite Discs SLAB, which is allegedly the Max mold. It definitely is overstable and the reviews are good.

The Gazelle. Replaced it with the M-Polaris LS, not quiet the same, but close enough.
Still have a few DX Gazelles in the stash for winter play though.
Quick question what is the disc closest to the TeeRex in full production? Is that the X Caliber? My dad used the disc back in late 2000's, 2009 when the TeeRex was labeled a 12 speed by mistake.

Link to the thread you're referencing please? I didn't see anything about that in the Sabot thread.According to my sources* the new metal flake Sabots are flat.
