I just bought one because I loved the feel of the disc in my hand. I have yet to throw it but what is everybody's reaction to it? It doesn't seem to garnish much fanfare...

Not just Yay, EFFIN YAY!

Love the hell out of it, and it is an awesome wind putter too.

Note I have the star gator which is different than a regular one.

I like the Gator in DX for forehand approaches. The DX is more stable cause it has the bead where the Star version is beadless.

I picked one up in star for the record...

I am going to copy and paste from DGR...again.

The best way I can explain it is like this: I try to imagine throwing a ball, or rock, or something with no glide, toward the basket. To me, a midrange with a lot of glide will tend to carry too far beyond the basket, and will probably skip 10-20 feet past where it initally hits the ground. I just throw the gator exactly how hard I think I should throw a ball, and the distance is almost always perfect.

CFR Gator

I have a CFR Gator, which is the beaded version in Champ plastic. It is the only variety of Gator I have thrown, and I love it. It's been in my bag for over a year and is nearly as stable as the day I bought it. Money for windy approaches that don't need quite the distance of an overstable midrange, forehand approaches (as mentioned previously in another post), and out of trouble shots. I've been meaning to get a few more for backups but mine never seems to beat in so I have very little motivation (similar to the CE plastic dilemma :)).

I might need to try the more stable one...not that the star is severely lacking or anything.

Terrific disk. I have one in DX plastic and it's very reliable. Predictable flight regardless of the wind. It's also my favorite disk for a hammer/thumber out of the rough

My thread delivers.

Where was this fanfare before?

If you take a pig and a gator to an open field and throw them as hard as you can they will consistently land within five feet of each other. Different disc, different class, identical flight characteristics. I don't like either one because they don't glide good enough.

I had a couple Star Gators. I felt like I had to throw them really hard to get any distance on them, and they dumped off the line really quick. I prefer the Drone, just a bit more glide, but overstable enough. Seems to fade out a bit smoother.

Ah but the beauty is that they don't glide well. It's very difficult for them to overshoot the pin.

Is one of yours the one I am ranting about? I can never remember who I traded with, there are so many.
