So I have a couple questions. First off I got a couple of my friends from work to head up to Highbridge for the first time. I got tom's number to give them to reserve a campsite. First question is how much is it to golf for 3 adults and a minor? and second question would be is the camping at chestnut the same as it used to be campsite wise? Is firewood provided? Or is it just easier to call Tom. I'm so excited for these guys to play HH. Jealous too lol. I figured this would be the best place for info.

There are other more knowledgeable folks here, but I think I can answer:

$10/day to frolf (same for adults and minors)
$20/night per site (up to 6 people), firewood was included during the tourney. Not sure if that's always a thing, but I assume so. If not, there's firewood for sale across the street from the Dollar General in Mellen. The only campsites right now are down by the stage at Chestnut - the sites way back up in the woods are too far from the running water.

That's all good information but whatever you do, do not buy firewood from the large place across the street from Dollar General. We bought firewood there as well as another person I know and the firewood would not burn under any circumstances. We both had the same experience, it was terrible. I stopped by there a couple times to try to get my money back but nobody is ever there. Its self service. There are other places that sell firewood right nearby as you head north on 169. I would try those but only if you can buy from a person. That way you can make sure it's dry and get your money back if it's crap.

I saw some really ratty carts parked down by the honka house among some other junk. I'd be amazed if any of them run.

The question is does JJ own the honka house or was that part of what Tom bought?

Last time we were there, JJ gave us this double cart and the steering went out almost immediately, while going down a super steep hill on Granite. Had to crash it into a tree to stop it. We later on told Abby about what happened and she was like "ohh yah, the steering column doesn't work on that one". We almost got pretty mangled up and JJ gave us the cart knowing that would happen. :thmbdown:

Oh man I can just see you guys terrified screaming down one of those big Hills with this out-of-control cart that won't steer and probably doesn't have brakes either. Split-second decision, do we jump out of the cart or do we crash into this tree?! Sounds like an awesome time! (since you survived of course!)

JJ still owns that parcel (thus the need for redesigned holes) and a couple others (or at least is in cahoots with a couple of parcel owners). Thus all the junk around honka.

so JJ still owns the honka house? Not the pro shop though. Wouldn't that affect blueberry 2 or the parking lot? I was under the impression he owned land more on the west? I believe side of the hill that would affect BB and gold. It's been awhile since I've been up there though. Oh and those carts were sketchy at best.

No carts. I'm 66 years old and if I don't need a cart, you don't need a cart.

Yes, it does, and has affected Blueberry. Not the lot, or hole 2 though. 3's tee is on his plot, so the new tee is a tad shorter and closer to treeline. Other plots forced other changes on BB as well, but I don't remember it all, and I am sure it will change more.

The best was on one hole on BB where there's a sign by the pad that says "Only use the front half of the tee box - it's the property line). Lol.

Gold also has a few land related changes.

But the rest were basically unaffected.

Never said I needed one, but the lure of carts helps convince other friends to drive the 5.5 hours up there... I've actually played Gold and Granite back to back in the pouring rain, without a cart.

The lure of magnificent disc golf courses will have to be enough. No carts are in the future.
