Disc Golf Valley

For the Grizzly Gulch hole, I forehand the wind/glide Recoil. Sometimes I hit the gap perfect and have a 60' putt, but I haven't figured it out consistently.

I bag that disc! I'll have to try it. In the old version I would use my skip disc and had the various lines dialed pretty well, but I don't bag it anymore.

My current bag:
Light/Glide Ballista (because of course)
Wind/Glide Recoil
Acc/Glide Musket
Acc/Glide River (Explorer got a bit too OS in the new version)
Acc/Glide Fuse
Acc/Glide Pure (replaced the Sticky/Accurate)

Interesting. I haven't been fiddling with the bag a ton but got the wind/acc Explorer right before the update and still like it.

Bag:
Light/Glide Ballista
Wind/Glide Recoil (definitely more OS now but still very consistent for many holes)
Acc/Wind Musket (I love this thing. Versatile and consistent)
Acc/Wind Explorer (some overlap with the Musket but I'm ok with that for now)
Acc/Wind Fuse (maybe should give glide a shot for the ace run potential, but this is also so consistent!)
Acc/Sticky Pure (haven't given Glide a shot recently...)

Condor hole is the Par 5 on Lakeside that is sometimes drivable (thus potentially bringing a Condor - ace on a Par 5 - into play)

Sunshine number five I line up the second arrow on top of the hill quite a bit left of the tee and release at about 430 on a clock face (significant hyzer) - the hope is it clears the trees, hits the hill on the other side, and then deflects towards the hole leaving a 70-120' throw-in. I now attempt that shot in any wind
That one is harder to "park" than in the old days

I still haven't figured out a good new line on GG number 6 - try and get into the mouth of the tunnel and throw it in from there

Sunshine 5 is definitely harder to park. I take a slightly different line, I think a bit lower but also over the hill, basically through the trees. I have only gone OB once, but of course it was during a Pro Tour round. Eagles have definitely gone way down, but it's cuz my ability to hit 70-100 footers has gone way down with the update. Still, wind seems to affect the drivers less, so I managed to eagle with a 2 headwind, when I wouldn't have tried previously. I've had a decent number of 30-40 footers

Is GG #6 the one that is way off right, with a little arch gap? If so - I go dead straight up above the initial point so that the bottom arrow is just a hair above the mountain, and then hit a just-less-severe than 45 degree anny with a Light Glide Ballista. That tends to float me to the eagle putt in most winds.

Thanks for tips guys. I spent a few minutes dialing that Sunshine #5 teeshot back in and I think I can learn to consistently get it over the water at least. Getting inside 60' seems much harder after the update though, even after getting that line dialed in. The turn/glide Ballista (my max distance disc since I don't have a glide/light Ballista) just doesn't reach it like it used to, and I really have to make sure to not throw too high now. Prior to the update, there was a much larger margin for error.

Forehand definitely seems to be the way to go on Grizz Gulch #6 after the update. I throw my "control" Ballista there -- a max glide/wind resistance version. The Condor hole (now that I know that's the name for it) is just too touchy of a shot until I can get my hands on the glide/light Ballista.

My bag currently is:
Acc/Sticky Pure
Acc/Wind Fuse
Acc/Glide Explorer
Acc/Wind Pioneer
Glide/Wind Ballista
Glide/Turn Ballista

Yes--

That is working for me as well, even now. Light, glide ballista. BH, aim a little right of default aim, I don't change vertical aim at all. Put about 7:30 (45 degree left) anny on it, and it almost always still gets me to eagle putt range. Did it once today, even with a 3, right to left headwind (about the worst for the shot), it still got there OK.

I may have to try that!

I should mention too that the degree of anny depends on the wind, and sometimes a full throw is not required, like on a tailwind. I aim a bit right of default to miss the first available tree. :)

This is a good summary of my recent experiences as well, although I am on IOS. Ballistas are definitely shorter now. There is one dogleg left Par 4 in particular that has gone from a "go for it" eagle hole to a layup hole now. I can't clear the water anymore, regardless of wind direction. Another oddity is that three of my discs are now clearly less stable (wind/accurate Pioneer, wind/accurate Fuse and glide/turn Ballista) while my wind/glide Ballista is now more overstable. I don't notice a flight difference in the other two discs in my bag (Pure and Explorer). So bizarre.

Interesting. My Fuse and Pure feel less stable on forehand (but that's not a big concern as those come up rarely). My Ballista and Recoil are clearly more stable, and my L/G Ballista has definitely lost some pop and fluffs out to the left sooner.

I haven't had to begin laying up on any holes I used to go for, though.

I still haven't figured out a good new line on GG number 6 - try and get into the mouth of the tunnel and throw it in from there

I'm 50% successful aiming (given neutral-ish wind) a L/G forehand at the middle of the base of the two trees blocking the arch, with some hyzer. I wait for the reticule to drift to the right, and flex it around the trees and into the mouth of the arch. Sometimes park it, mostly have a 70'-100'. But that's 50% of the time. The other half I careen into some rocks and scramble for birdie.

I have actually had less luck getting to eagle range on sunshine #5 as well. Used to make it 70%, now down to 40%. Been going BH, will try the FH route, see if % goes up any.

On that hole, when there's not a helping wind, I just aim further left and take the roll off the hill. This works in a lot of winds that would dunk you into the river on a better line. Results in being left with a 100 footer quite often, though sometimes good roll-outs happen.

If GG #6 is the one I'm thinking off I go Light Glide Ballista on an anny round the back and over the trees, everynow and again I go too extreme on the anny and sail off down the river but I normally err on the side of caution and end up on top of the tunnel at worst with most ending on the green for an eagle look.

My rating didn't update after this last pro tour. I was set for a solid increase with some good rounds. Did anyone else have this problem?

Nope, I actually just hit a new personal best rating of 927 with today's update. I continue to be a much better virtual disc golfer than real disc golfer.

I just turned pro with the new ratings update! Went up 47 points to a 866. I think the biggest part of the increase was less bad rounds and the bad rounds I did have weren't as bad as they used to be.

It will be interesting to see how I do against the pros in the Pro Tour and multiplayer rounds.

Multiplayer rounds are not in divisions i heared.

Pro Tour is pretty much the same in advanced and pro. You always have a guy who hits any imaginable ace and plays -12 to -15 per round. I have never seen a pro tour winner who was not at LEAST at -40 after 4 rounds, no matter if advanced or pro.

But congratz on the level up :)
