I just did a search online and I can't find anything that says you have to quarantine for 14 days. As long as you show a negative test result within 3 days before entering the US you should be good to go. We recently had a visitor from Central America arrive and she was not told to quarantine by anyone at customs or the airport. All she had to do was show her negative test result and vaccination card. Does anyone have a link that states otherwise?

I don't know, what was Simons deal then?

The Schengen area of Europe has been on that strict 14-day quarantine outside of Schengen fora long time now in order to enter the US. That's why Kristin Tattar, Silver Lott and Albert Tamm all had to go to Croatia (away from their home country) for two weeks before they would be allowed to come here to compete.

How you didn't find it was beyond me. This was the first article I pulled up.

https://www.nytimes.com/2021/07/08/travel/europeans-us-travel-restrictions.html

[FYI, before you ask. The Schengen area of Europe are the countries that do not require passports to travel across their borders. Basically you can go where you want, with no checks along the way.]

Buddy of mine came back from Portugal a few weeks back. He had a layover in Canada. Had to take a test before he left Europe and then had to pass a rapid test when he landed in Chicago. No quarantine.

aray, looks like that Nytimes article is almost 2 months old.

I believe the difference is that your buddy is (likely) an American citizen. Simon is not, and also is likely not yet a permanent resident (green card). I think the Schengen area restriction applies to most anyone here on a visa.

Maple Hill dgc is looking better than ever this year.

I like the new black tee pads, and have used them occasionally when not feeling up to the gold standard.

It looks like the tree farm did not sell as many Christmas trees as normal this past holiday season, because the fairways of holes 1 and 11 feel a bit more crowded than last year. I am wondering if that will adversely affect the average scores on those holes during the tournament.

I'm in favor of leaving more trees. Hole 1 should be tougher than it's been scoring the last few years. It's a signature hole, but my thought is a signature hole shouldn't average a 1/2 stroke under par.
Uli mentioned he had birdied it the last 5 times he's played it. He's a top 10-15 player at most events, but even the top 3 shouldn't just roll off birdies on this hole every time.

Where are you getting your stats? In 2020, Hole 1 average 4.41 for the field, and 4.32 for 1000-rated players. The top 3 (McBeth, Eagle, and Ricky) birdied it 4 times out of 9 attempts.

Uli, all three rounds.

Hole 1 is playing closer to 1/2 stroke over par after round 1.

Pretty sure the last thing that dude needs is more candy, good grief.

Feature card all go OB on hole 8. (Conrad, McBeth, Eagle & Raven)
