2023 PDGA Masters Disc Golf World Championships

Adding a slider for it would be cool.

DGCR is so hilariously absurd sometimes it cracks me up.

I think I'll adjust for the cross wind I'm throwing into that could potentially move my disc several feet rather than some non-existent theoretical micro thingy that might affect the flight by a micron - at most.

Too small to account for...;)

While I will usually understand and agree with Chuck often...
and I will sometimes understand and agree with Steve occasionally...

I will defer and trust the science stuff with our resident "Rocket Scientist" Dave...

"Brain Surgery" thoughts and theories are still up for options though...

The best and worst parts of any community is that you'll always find people who are smarter than you, and as a result, you'll inevitably look or feel stupid.

The thing to remember about sports drinks is they're basically salt water. To hydrate, drink water.

It's all about balance. I sweat pretty heavy which means loss of electrolytes. Most sports drinks don't help much. Bananas and pickle juice and just plain salt have helped with cramping over the years during heavy exercise.

Wow....that was FAST. I entered at 10:30 on the dot and got in. 10:32 had 17 on the waitlist in my division. There are now 27 waitlisted in MA60.

Glad you got in. Good luck, and may your discs land where you want them to! :hfive:

Many angry golfers, due to failure to get in. All kinds of suggestions on how the registration process could be changed to better benefit them. Some would like a tiered reg, based on points acquired. Some asking for tier reg, based on ratings. Some just asking for a larger tournament.

I was quite disappointed that we will only be playing four rounds on two courses. I miss having more rounds and really miss not playing a multitude of courses. Oh well, I will have to just be satisfied at having the time of my life!!

They really need to split this event into separate Pro and Am events. Also have needed to simply invite less people to all Worlds events for years now.

Some info posted via comments on the tournament page.

Cart Friendly - Fort Tuthill Semi- Cart Friendly - NAU and McPherson (but be prepared for some rough areas) Not Cart Friendly - Little America Long, Little America Crew Course and Thorpe

They are having a player banquet one night. $30 for players to attend, $40 for my wife. :\:\

" No tee shirts will be allowed, except for competitors in the Junior and Amateur divisions during preliminary rounds. Juniors and Amateurs shall not wear tee shirts during semifinal or final rounds. Crew neck or v-neck shirts made of high-performance or high-tech materials, such as Dry-Fit, Cool-Max, and others will be allowed."

Course layouts and rules.

They seem to have information on a couple platforms. I am sure most players have access to this info...but since we had a thread and all.

Odd that they would allow t-shirts at all- even more odd that they address Juniors at a Masters event.

They literally just copy and pasted it from the PDGA rule book with no regard to proof reading. Happened several times so far on the Discgolfscene page for it. Wrong dates, wrong times, tons of incorrect info. Whoever is editing that page has their work cut out for them. lol

'Murcns!

Showing those pesky extra decimal points we hated when they tried to teach the metric system by forcing us to do endless conversions. Whole meters would have been close enough, but we've never seen metric measurements which did not have a tail of random numbers.

Well. I got my first Flagstaff round in today. I was pretty concerned about the elevation and my conditioning. Things went just fine. Anyone trying to say the difference in stability of discs at this elevation is minimal is nuts. The compensation/adjustment/changes that are needed are significant. I really struggled getting the disc up...I think more of a ru4por problem, not an elevation one. Tuthill was a flat, dusty desert like track. Not much like Midwest golf. Excited to be here and happy to have half the drive behind me.:D
