[Drivers] Sell me on an under stable speed 9

Sidewinder or Champion roadrunner. I learned how to throw using a 150 star sidewinder. Now I bag two roadrunners 167 champ beat and 175 champ new. It's a great hyzer flip disc for less powerful throws and awesome for rollers and big anyhzer shots.

As luck would have it: I have access to a 8.7/10 161 DX Sidewinder; that I found uninked in a pond, a beat in 174 SE Valkyrie(FLIPtastic); cheap from PIAS, and that heavier Orion LS; which I got in a lot deal. The fury and hatchet sound sweet. I love the feel of opto plastic. Who doesn't?

I threw two of those three a little tonight. The valkyrie was actually way less stable (both HSS & LSS) than the sidewinder. Threw them both about the same distance, but I felt more control out of the valkyrie; took a good deal of hyzer to get it to exhibit a teeny bit of left-ish fade. I'm going to throw them in the field more tomorrow, but let's say I was going to get ahold of a more beefy valkyrie to compliment that one: would ya'll still recommend the star(wasn't it SE plastic that became star?)?

Another vote for Hatchet. I can get almost as much distance as the higher speed discs but with more accuracy.

There is some overlap. I don't throw FDs (I have, but they didn't take). But I have lots of overlap between my QJLSs and OLSs. The OLS won't be a straight flyer for long if you have 300+ feet of Buzz power. It'll get flippy. But it will be longer than your FD. And if you reign in the flip, it will CONSIDERABLY longer than your FD.

I do throw a JLS. Is the O LS more under stable and noticeably faster/longer? Or just a longer version of the JLS?

I threw a new Fury and a new Jade on the course today (I'm also expanding into control drivers). I really like both of them so far--marked difference between those and my fairways. (Ripped the rim of one of my remaining Eclipses on a tree. Bummer.)

I have a Hatchet on the way and will probably pick up a Sidewinder soon. So far, the Fury is the pick.

What are te noticeable differences you notice between fury and jade?

The Jade seems a bit more finicky. That may change as they get beat in a bit, so I'll be throwing them both more to see how they work in. I drove with both of them off several tees to get direct comparisons. (On other tees, I drove with my Eclipse and then one of the new discs, to see how they compare directly to my long-time favorite driver.) I got the exact line I wanted with the Fury more times than with the Jade. They carried about the same distance when compared to each other.

I've been throwing a 169 Retro Fury and I really like it. If I throw it flat I get a nice straight flight out of it, and if I throw on a little higher line it has a nice S-curve. I seem to be able to throw it about average distance for myself. I also have a River, but I don't use it very often. It just seems so slow. I can throw it very straight but I feel like it just dies out and I can't throw it as far as my other discs.

I also HAD a Gold Line Diamond that I really liked. I was able to throw it once much further than my usual distance, I'd say it went at least 350'. Unfortunately, it dramatically overshot the hole and I lost sight of it forever before it landed. I think I will buy another one.

The HAtchet came in and I've gotten to throw it a few times. I'm liking what I see so far, as it carries well and doesn't seem to be terribly finicky. Haven't picked up a Sidewinder, yet, though I will soon.

Through a round last week without an Eclipse in the bag. Pulled out the Fury more than the Jade and used the Hatchet to fill in other shots I'd use the Eclipse on. Really liking the Fury.

Roadrunner for the win! They're glide machines, which enables many flight possibilities. Other discs that are more stable can flip, but don't always like to turnover. Roadrunners can flip straight just as well as they can flip into turnovers. They are great for stand stills, great for rollers, and perfect for tailwind drives. Oh, and they come in more variations of plastic and colors than you can shake a stick at. From Champ to Starlite, you're bound to find a Roadrunner you'll like.

Been there, done that, love me some Fury. Roadrunner is good too, though.

Ok, I tried.

Most of my favorite US discs are speed 7 or less: Underworld, Maul, beaten in River, or mids.

Although love me some Sidewinder too.
