Review by bee_ryce in course Midnapore Lake

2.50 star(s) Short, Hilly course Nicely landscaped PRIVATE park (see "other thoughts" below) with full washrooms, vending machines, lake, firepit. Newly built with Mach V baskets, this course is great for beginners (although I will say hole # 2 is one of the toughest par 3's in the city). This course has...

    Birdie Streak

8, twice Forest Lawn in Calgary, Holes 5-9 and 1-3 (I started on Hole 4). Shot a 19 on the front nine, then proceeded to just shoot even on the back. And more recently at Baker Park in calgary, holes 11 to 18. Ended up with a 43 being my lowest score on 18 holes ever. Pretty proud of that one...

[Question] Which company should make a lid?

Gateway...would love a Rattler type disc in nice chalky plastic.

[Discraft] What is the Rattler for?

I use mine from about 170 feet and in for all of the reasons that ManU said. It is an excellent approach disc but I don't like it as a putter. It is just so darn predictable, even if my throw is offline it still seems to land fairly close to the basket since you get no fade or skip away. I...

[Innova] New look of Innova Champion

I like the layout of the stamp but the italic bubble-letter style font ruins it for me.

Is there a putter that fits what I'm looking for?

A beaded low profile putter with buzzz-ish stability? A Classic Roc is what you seek.

    Underrated discs

Rattler. from 50 yards and in it flies exactly how you throw it with almost no fade. More stable at high speeds than you might expect.

    Paige and Prodigy 0-1

She did play better than her player rating, on average, and lost only to a seasoned Pro so I'd say she did pretty well.

What do you throw? 2012 Edition

Maybe? just want a nice neutral flyer with good grip, slightly soft. My beat to hell wizard is turning over a bit on longer putts. I have a nice older aviar in the soft DX plastic but its a bit light.

What do you throw? 2012 Edition

Orion LF X2 JLS X2 Monster Wasp Buzzz X2 Wizard X3 Rattler Love my simple setup, the only thing i might add is an Aviar PnA for putting duties only. Wizards are great for driving just cant find one with a good putting feel.

How long after your first ace did you hit your second?

Took me a couple years to get my first ace. I got my second ace the next day!

    recommendations for winter discing

Probably, but the cold dense air, doing a run-up in snowboots and wearing bulky layers will affect your throw way more, so you probably wont even notice the ribbons :) For the sake of the sanity of the players in your group, use ribbons. Otherwise it can be a needle in a haystack type...
