Just adding a few things I didn't see so far...
- Firmly wipe the disc down.
- I try to only wipe down the grip area during downpour conditions. With the dry grip area prepped, keep it under your rain gear/coat/towel (dry side up!) before you throw.
- Shake off your towel vigorously and...
I think it kinda depends on the course.
Short wooded--->longer open
Aviar-->Shark-->Leopard/Cheetah (165-170)
Other contenders, Polecat, Aero, Wedge, Kite or Dart?
My thoughts, bag the driver for now and work on flicking a putter (something stable/slightly OS....not a Zone or Pig). Focus on a consistent straight flat throws.
Reason being (among a few others) is that a driver/faster disc will be more sensitive to the nose angle. Additionally you will...
Try +6, which included 2 miraculous (for me) 75' birdies on a home course where I normally cash with -3/4.
But I didn't get any chiggers or poison ivy. Glass is always half full on the course!
Good input.
Addtional thought, any throw should be at most 70-80% effort. I figure during my typical round, I'll throw maybe 8-10 max power. But even then it's not about throwing 'harder', but rather it is about throwing 'longer' with a further pull back. I see it like a walking step vs a...
...as I was saying, 'more overstable(OS)' makes for a friendlier fh disc. Besides certain molds (ie Zone, Pig, Gator, Whippet, Xxx), a heavier/denser (ie premium plastic) disc will also fly more OS. Also a 'fast disc' thrown at slower speeds will behave more OS. On that note, if you're gonna get...
I go all premium for driving putters. Usually more forgiving of any OAT issues off the tee and holds up better on tree hits (many trees on my home courses).
I have some beat in premium putters that I use for hyzer flips/turning drives or more finesse approaches. They just seem to hold their...
One other thing, assuming both discs have enough speed/distance for my needs, I do prefer a blunt nose to sharp nose (more forgiving of nose angle variance)
But I feel like that's a general preference regardless of fh/bh.
Things I look for, generally from most to least important...
No +Rims
Good rim depth
No beads/curved lower wing (want flat lower wing)
Flat top
For plastics, generally prefer stiff grippy candy, but will go for floppy/grippy rubber for hyzer flips or long turnovers.
For rim width, 12-13 speed...
In my experiences, more OS=less glide.
A very hard dump after good low glide = a powered down mid/driver imo.
Beyond that, I'd advise trying out rollers. Something OS thst will hit the ground straight but curl right.
Some questions...
Recently played a sanctioned round. 1st rnd, we had players from different divisions on the card....pro, women, int (me), rec. 2nd rnd, my card was was all int. Is this a standard format? Why?
Why do the rules not start at #1 but instead at 800.xx?
I play with a few crews (be cool, get invited :thmbup:) and one thing that keeps me coming back is the grass roots sh!t talk. The type that solicits questions from non-regulars, explanations, and reinvigorates the value of the initial comments.
Then there's the World Champ Medal. It's...
