Haven't kept up on equipment in the last couple years but I'm in Seattle for the week, didn't bring my discs, and decided to go play a few courses casually. Seems like a good time to try some new discs, I only wanna buy three, any recommendations on what I might be able to try and cover all the...
I dropped my Gator and started using my Monster for as many OS duties as possible and my game has been better for it. I rely heavily on my Monsters for forehand, overhand, backhand and forehand roller shots. The only OS shots I've decided it's not suited for are really short approaches and...
Got my Fossil Scale in on Wednesday and it's already made my bag and kicked out my Gator. I'm pretty resistant to changing anything in my bag, all my discs are old molds, but the Scale is exactly the overstable drive and approach disc I was looking for.
I can put everything into a flat...
Yeah, I'll be sad when I run out of pearly Monsters. I tried 11x Firebirds a long time ago but the Monster-X flew an identical line with an additional 20-30' of distance.
I have been eyeing the Scale. I'm experimenting with powering down on a Gator while I wait for them to become more widely...
Been a while since I've updated my bag. I'm trying out the Teebird/Leopard combo this year in lieu of my Eagles, and I'm already really liking it. I'm trying out the Gator (not pictured) for forehand approaches, anyone have any suggestions on other overstable mids? I like the Prodigy plastic...
I agree with the Valk/Orc assessments. Valk if you like to hyzer flip, Orc if you prefer flat releases (in general).
When you get 350-400' with a Teebird, the Valk/Orc will still be useful on similar lines in the 380-420' range. And at that point, you can start using a Destroyer type disc for...
Thanks for clarifying. My body is definitely hyzer when I'm throwing flat or hyzer. I don't think that's the problem.
Thanks, that gives me a better understanding of what's happening. I can see why you say it's timing dependent, I think my timing is slightly off when I occasionally turn and...
No, I didn't mention anything about throwing hyzer. I'm talking about telegraphing anhyzer to flat, which is what zj's article is about. With this technique, I assume the wrist is going to have to roll from anhyzer to flat at some point. I've found it difficult to get completely flat at release.
I can verify this technique works. I always struggled to get the nose down on flat and anhyzer throws until I found this technique. I know Blake from DGR discouraged it because it can lead to an increase in grip locks and wrist roll (causing turn and burns), and I've found that to be the case...
