Yes, a lot of work has gone into it. Sadly, I've only been able to spend a couple hours to help, and I won't be able to be there tomorrow for the installation of baskets. A few individuals have busted their asses to get this done.

Nope, never played it. Not much local to Randolph right now, but on Saturday baskets are going in at the Central Park of Morris County in Morris Plains, which means we'll have an 18-basket course in Morris county very soon. It's still rough, of course, but it's on it's way and I'm excited...

I saw a few Discatcher baskets mixed in on some of the holes. Doesn't this violate the PDGA Target requirements for A-Tier and higher: "PDGA approved Championship targets of same design and manufacturer"?

I agree. Very much like what I liked about listening to McCabe's coverage of a recent tournament. They don't just narrate what is happening, they actually provide commentary. Drives me nuts to listen to a video and have the announcer only narrate what we just watched or read the scores off...

When I play with my son, we often just play doubles, each taking a shot from the better lie. The competition then becomes "what's the best score we can get together on this course" instead of competing against each other. Not all competition needs an opponent.

I agree. It seems that the focus often seems to be "how can we get more people to play tournaments?" instead of "how can we get our tournaments to be better?" In my area, casual players are encouraged to play tournaments, but when they do, it can be frustrating for those that care about good...

I agree with what's been said. Try it out. See if you're reading the vibe wrong. Give it some time. And if you end up not enjoying the league, think about starting your own. Try not to poach their members or compete with them: if they're running regular play, run a doubles league or handicap...
