2020 Las Vegas Challenge Feb 20-23

I don't find it politically incorrect because, really, it applies to players in ANY division where the top competitors are rated in the 940-980 range, not just FPO.

The inevitable re-attempt at a 2020 Pros Switching Sponsors Thread

She was on Smashboxx last week and her going to Infinite is absolutely tied to her focus on the non-profit. She said she's not touring, at least not as a player (plans to play maybe 4-5 tournaments), which isn't very conducive to having a manufacturer sponsorship obligation. It's arguably the...

    WTO 2020

In an instance like this, I suspect it was a TD/staff fail rather than players choosing not to do live scoring. By that I mean that they did a poor job of informing players about the live scoring password, if they did at all. Just as an example, for the US Masters last year, it wasn't until...

    Disc Golf in the News

Turning to something a bit more positive for our game. NESN (New England Sports Network) is the flagship cable station for the Boston Red Sox. Each year during spring training, they do a daily live 30 minute broadcast where they give updates and interview players. By the end of spring, every...

Jacky Chen - Winner of 2020 Asia Open

To think, if he had wanted to sign up for, say, the San Francisco Open as his first tournament, he wouldn't be allowed. Good for him.

No one said there would be any test......

20 out of 25 to pass. You don't get charged until you pass the test, so it's just $10 no matter how many attempts it takes.

No one said there would be any test......

Having to pass this test isn't new. It's been a requirement for playing NTs and Majors for over a decade. It's 25 questions, it's open (rule) book, and there's no limit to how many times it takes to pass it.

    PDGA 10 Year Tag

I don't recall ever getting a 10 year membership tag. But this year, at my 20 year mark, I got a "Legacy Member" tag.

Option to play one round during tournments

This is the reason it isn't and will likely never be an official option offered. Tournaments have a finite number of places for players. It would be sub-optimal to take places away from players who desire to play the full tournament to accommodate people who can't or don't want to commit to...

    2020 Tourney Vids

Youtube is pretty much it for disc golf videos. Some events air live (follow smashboxxtv and Disc Golf Pro Tour for those) but most are post-produced airing anywhere from hours to days/weeks after the event. If you don't know who won and don't want to be spoiled, don't go looking for the...

    Multi moving obstacle

Because the QAs didn't get updated when the electronic book did prior to the 2019 season. The next update of the rule book should align the QAs with the rules better, or at least that's one of our goals.

    Buying an Early Registration Exemption

Wasn't suggesting that a TD would be pocketing the money, just that one could manipulate the financial report any way he wishes. I'm picturing something along the lines of charging everyone $50 for a B-tier but calling it a $10 entry and a (mandatory) $40 sponsorship. Pay out every dime of...
