    The direction of Disc Golf

While it’s not the OP question the crux of the question is what makes a quality course. It seems that one key component is variety. It can’t be 18 wooded tunnel shots or 18 600+ ft bombers.

[Question] What was the first disc you ever threw?

Innova starter pack so 150g DX leopard, shark, aviar. Still have those disc but don’t use them anymore.

    Lets talk tournament trends

I must admit that I watched a video of raptors roost earlier and I wasn’t too interested because it seemed to mostly use the old ball golf fairways. I’ve also stayed away from Lake Marshall Lions because I don’t have the 400+ drive that it takes. I do like the Lair. And maybe I’ll like the...

    Lets talk tournament trends

I get that open courses are better for filming. Maybe I’m biased against them since I’m stuck at sub-350 and 60 yrs old so 600+ holes are out of my reach in 3. I was wondering if using open courses to grow the sport will tend to make DG shift to mostly open courses.

    Lets talk tournament trends

I'm losing interest in watching top tier professional tournaments. It seems that the trend is to open combo golf/DG courses with hole after hole of 500-1000+ ft bombers with artificial out of bounds lines. I understand that these types of courses are much easier to film but I find this type...

    Is it legal

One round you get a casual group and leaves blowing is considered distracting. Next round winning the tournament is at stake and everyone is looking to play head games. When things get competitive the rules need to be clear and not left to interpretation.

    Is it legal

What is the rationale for the fourth criteria : "The playing area is clear and free of distractions" Is it safety or player concentration? If it's safety, then I agree that "distraction" should be replaced with "other players and spectators". It should not include other peoples stuff or...

    [Mids] Understable complement to Comet

Folks are suggesting a lot of newer models but for understable mid it's hard to beat the old Stingray. Too much anny and it will dive and cut roll; but thrown flat or with a very slight anny with good spin and it will slow turn all the way to the ground. I carry a light weight DX version that's...

    What would you do?

If they wanted it back Fine but I would give them a little ribbing about why they didn’t return my calls. Now the guy in this story obviously didn’t call so he has no higher ground to stand on. Did you asked how he got the disc, did he find it, did someone give it to him, did he buy it a PIAS?

    What would you do?

You didn’t specifically say that your phone # on the disc. You only mention a signature. And we don’t have the other persons side f the story. Who started being snarky first - who copped an attitude first. And it’s always hard to convey tone and attitude. In the end you did the right thing -...

Review by KniceZ in course Coyote Hills DGC

3.00 star(s) Not in the summer Nice course layout with great mix of hole designs. No right or left bias. Good signage and next tee indicators makes for easy navigation. Tee signs on both short and long pads. Many holes with good benches. Good use of available terrain and elevation. Good concrete...

    Backpack usage poll

The other issue I’m having is that to get my arm through the second strap it has to be fairly loose. Then the bag rides too low. Guess I’m used to higher riding / snug fitting camping backpacks. Also I’ve never used the chest buckle

Review by KniceZ in course Casey R. Logan DGC

3.00 star(s) Nice addition to OBX Tremendous amount of work has been put into making this course. It's been carved out of a wooded and marshy piece of land. Getting off fairway can be tough but very few places where underbrush is overly difficult. The course is pretty tight and some holes could use a few...

    Backpack usage poll

Didn't think of adding - "Use the backpack on a cart" - to the poll

    Backpack usage poll

Given all the rave reviews for various backpacks I changed this year from a Fade Crunch to a Prodigy BP-2 . While backpacks are obviously more comfortable when worn with both straps, I usually just use one strap. Yeah when it's a long walk between I'll sometimes use both, but most of the time...
