Is there money to be made in disc golf

If I could get paid to do something I love every day I would be all over it. Not greedy at all.

    Tourny Question

I am about as green as it gets, but I think it would be fun to participate in some kind of tourney. Do I just look for the lowest tier tourney possible to play? I have no ranking yet, so I am really not sure how to get started, but I am a new PDGA member. Is there some sort of "dg tourneys...

What was your first ever disc? Do you still have it or throw it?

My first ever disc was a Valkyrie, which (as of yesterday on summer hole #12) is fish food in the White River. The throw looked nice. Started out left and banked right through the trees towards the chains. It must have took a big skip because that was the last I saw of it. Sploosh. :(

How many times do you play a week?

At least one round, 5-6 days a week.

Review by mlihlen in course White River

4.00 star(s) Home Course 1. Awesome Layout - The course flows nicely from hole to hole. 2. Mostly Paved Tees - There are a few that are dirt or mat. 3. Quality Baskets - They are all the same and in good repair. 4. Basket Placement - There are several pin positions on most holes. 5. Friendly Players...

Losing my "fancy" driver improved my game?

Thanks for the tip, mate. I'll take a look next time I hit the pro shop. So I can see where this is going (but it's still cheaper than ball golf). :)

Losing my "fancy" driver improved my game?

I haven't actually lost any until yesterday, but considering I still had 2+ pitchers of beer in me, I may have an excuse. ;)

Losing my "fancy" driver improved my game?

Well, to be fair I am a total noob and the Groove did cost me 33% more so it MUST be fancy. And by fancy, I mean "fancy". Which is me thinking it's fancy because it is shinier than the dull looking Valk and it's speed was 4 higher, so speed means distance right? See where I'm coming from. :)

Losing my "fancy" driver improved my game?

Sequence of events: 1) buddy introduces me to disc golf :) 2) buy driver (Valkyrie), mid-range and putter at local sports store 3) get addicted  4) next day buy shiny new champion groove (and back-up) with a 13 for speed 5) play for a month or so frustrated at lack of distance and...

A couple of questions about keeping score:

Actually, I thought it was a helpful comment. Mixing tees would upset my OCD, so until I get better I will play from shorts. Why? Because when I am ready to man up I will play from the long tees, not whatever shot benefits my scorecard the best. It will give me a baseline of suck, too...

    Strained tricep

I don't think it is too severe. Some rest and ice are in order and I'm hoping it's a three dayer like yours. :)

    Strained tricep

Yeah, hehe for me it's in the same context as "smooth move, dummy". :)

    Strained tricep

Thanks, yeah I figure I'll rest it for a week and try some light throws to see how it feels. I'm used to playing every day so I am going through withdrawals right now. lol

    Strained tricep

I strained my right tricep out on the course yesterday and today it is pretty sore. It happened when I tried a backhanded over the shoulder roller which was pretty stupid since I've never practiced that move before. Anyway I felt the muscle twinge a little. Have any of you ever done this...
