    Rotating Putting Styles?

Saw a world champ completely miss the basket from 10' in finals, costing that person a title. Everyone gets the yips, but some get them a lot less than others.

End of Jump Putting as we know it

Finals of a 2011 major. In realtime, you can't tell for sure, but it doesn't "feel" like the right timing. Why are we being asked to enforce this dumb rule? If I really wanted to be making calls like this, I'd get a job as a first base umpire. I'd rather be playing golf.

End of Jump Putting as we know it

Jump putts are like highway speed limits: Most everyone breaks the law but as long as you're not too blatant about it, you won't get a ticket. At least with speeding there's an objective way to identify a law breaker. I was watching some finals footage from Charlotte Worlds and it wasn't until...

    Can We Reach 100 Mph?

To get a very high release velocity, there's no reason you couldn't just hand a disc to a very good fastball pitcher and have him throw with the exact same motion as throwing a baseball. It's not a distance contest, and he's not trying to get a pretty flight. Just crank the heck out of it and...

Pencil Whippers - How do you deal with them?

Funny how when someone misreports a hole score, it's too low about 99% of the time. Too high practically never happens. Selective memory indeed. Eventually, people will be wearing something like Google Glass and will just record their entire lives, including golf rounds: "No Jimbo, you...

    our own local record holder

PDGA online results for Horizons go back about a decade. Lots of rounds in the 30s, and at least one 37, but no 36 (that I could see). Surely someone can find a 36 somewhere?

    our own local record holder

Does anyone know of a 36 in a PDGA event? I'm sure there have been quite a few, but I haven't found one yet.

    USWDGC 2012 - Huntsville, Alabama

Okay, they finally got an article out there. Looks like the tournament's actually happening. Thanks.

    USWDGC 2012 - Huntsville, Alabama

Someone please let the PDGA know that this event is going on. It's a major, right? Nothing on the front page of the PDGA site so far, and the event is in its second day now.

Beware the man that has a lid in the bag...

The original lid was the 165 gram Wham-O 80 mold.

Yet Another Idea for the PDGA Website

Thanks! Geeze, that was my #1 thing to whine about. Awesome.

    New Distance Record?

Not real surprising that he likes throwing above the tree line.

How often do you use spin drives?

Thrown correctly, the 360 adds about 10% to a distance throw. It's the throw of choice for distance contests. It is possible to use it on golf course, but not recommended, especially if you haven't put in lots of field work prior. If you've done your homework, you can use it on an open hole...

    Uli rule call?!

I agree. Having to make jump putt calls is an unwelcome burden, and most choose to look the other way. It's kind of like being forced to be a first base umpire, making "bang bang" calls for a couple of hours. Gee, can I pay to do that?!? I was waiting for a tourney to end a few months back...

    Uli rule call?!

Apparently, the other players didn't see it so no one seconded the call.
