Review by rybob42 in course Juel Community Park

2.00 star(s) *update* getting better... - Nice teepads and signs - Two interesting holes - Maintained and mowed by someone, with two recent basket placement changes (thanks!) - Hard to lose a disc - So wet during the wet seasons! Bring your rain boots! - Very open and flat - "Holes" 10-18 are just 1-9 with...

Review by rybob42 in course Howling Coyote DGC

3.00 star(s) Really enjoyable! - Well-designed. Given the size of the park and the small space to work in, I was pleasantly surprised and delighted by most the holes. - Clean, new baskets, navigable (look for trail markers from most baskets) -- felt nice and cared-for. - Varying elevation on most holes. -...

Review by rybob42 in course Riverbend DGC

5.00 star(s) Beautiful and so much fun - Great variety of shots required. Never felt repetitive, even playing through twice back-to-back. - No punishing holes (except for length, perhaps). I felt there was a line that would work on each hole if I had the skill. - Room to air it out fairly often. - Great...

    [Discraft] Discraft Flick

I own one. I can't imagine you mean it's flippy or understable unless the disc was put through the meat grinder. Mine's very overstable and is hard to throw straight. I use it for overhand throws, windy days, and hard right turns (I'm left-handed). When going for distance backhand, I put it...

Most Holes Played in 24 Hours

Oops, just realized Sunset is 24, not 27. Ah well, the total was in the 100s, even if my memory stinks. This is a really cool idea, by the way. It's be fun to give it a try, but my off hand is so bad I'd probably be better off kicking the discs when my arm gets tired. I'd probably just have...

Most Holes Played in 24 Hours

In Las Vegas, my friend and I played the 27 at Sunset twice and then played until we couldn't see at Mountain Crest - about 40 holes. I can't remember the exact number, but we did top 100. My arm was pretty sore, but the heat was worse (it was August and 100+ degrees).

10 yr OLD SON (ADVICE NEEDED)

This thread filled up quickly, but thought I'd add my experience: everything Olorin said. :) Specifically, teach him a forehand, and go with light discs. My daughter just turned 10 and can get a lightweight disc out about 130ft at her best. Usually it's closer to 80ft. Backhand she's...

    Portland, OR in March

Another question: is there a disc shop in town? I imagine I'll lose some plastic along the way, and it'd be nice if I could replace it while still in town.

Dave Feldberg Putting Clinic on Youtube

Agreed. It seemed like he was kinda giving away a large portion of his instruction with that session (it was nearly an hour of putting instruction). I'm glad I saw it, and I'll probably still buy the DVD when it's out.

    Portland, OR in March

Great info, thanks guys! Sloan: I'm from SLC, and I'll be flying into PDX, so I won't catch anything on the way. Turkey: Thanks for the itinerary! That's perfect information. I'll probably just steal your plan and shorten it by a day. And your "noodle arm" fits my play style well :), so...

    Portland, OR in March

Excellent! Man, you guys have it good up there. If I were to play weekends, which courses aren't packed? I'm willing to drive, especially if I can hit a few on the way.

    Portland, OR in March

Hey Northwesterners, The wife has given the green light to a disc golf trip, and I'm thinking the Portland area looks like a mecca of disc golf in the western US. I'm aiming to go in late March. I've got some questions for people in the know. How would the weather be? What are the course...

    "Flutter" in my throws

I'm going to have to try this again. Which discs did you use? I have a putter that flutters on me (Champ Aviar PnA) and another that doesn't at all (Soft Banger GT). I've been thinking of buying a Comet just for this since I've read in another thread it's good for this. I've tried before...

Post a cool disc golf photo

If it's not private property, I wouldn't mind GPS coords to the tee and basket positions. I'd set it up myself for a few friends. If it's private, nevermind...

Post a cool disc golf photo

I've seen this picture before - this is a temp course in southern Utah, right? I want to play it!! I don't suppose I could get GPS coordinates for it...?
