Review by topcide in course Tom McCutcheon DGP

3.50 star(s) nice course - Good Mix of shots -Pretty location, plays along a lake with the water directly in play on a few. -Friendly locals -Uses topography well - Challenging but not impossible -A few holes play literally right next to roads. This is just a recipe for disaster. Also, no mention if...

Review by topcide in course Independence Lake - West

4.00 star(s) One of the best Indy is IMO the best course in the SE Michigan, and certainly the best in the Ann Arbor area. -Great Variety of shots - long, short, tight, open, water, up, down. You will need every shot. -Longs and short pads dramatically change the holes. -Red tees for rec players...

Review by topcide in course The Tailings

3.50 star(s) great course Challenging course. but with playable challenge that has actual thought behind it. Great hole designs Good mix of shots needed Nice variation of shots needed Location is awesome- amazing use of topography. Good tee signs, some have been vandalized though. Nice rubber pads. NO...

Review by topcide in course North Water Tower Park

3.00 star(s) Good mix of shots. The long and short pads change the holes dramatically. Hard to lose a disc. Water in play on a few holes. Lots of challenge. While I never felt unsafe, and I don't think that the neighborhood was sketchy, there were multiple groups of sketchy looking people hanging...

3.00 star(s) good course Nice course overall, Good lines, good layouts, nice change between long and short tees. Good mix of shots needed, challenging but not stupid hard. GREAT use of topography Reasonably easy to navigate.. Non concrete tee boxes. the day that I played some of the holes had rubber pads...

    Progressive ace pot

Except I see both as issues. As far as the ace pot scavenger goes- I have seen it in action. In one of the local leagues a pot grew pretty big for a couple weeks in a row and was a few hundred bucks. People started rolling in from pretty long distances that had never played the league before-...

    Ann Arbor, MI

I would agree with the others- if you have one course go to either Indy or Hudson mills. Personally, I am partial to Indy and I think that the course there is the best in the southern area of the state and I would choose it over either Hudson Mills course especially with it being 36 holes now...

Review by topcide in course Silver Creek DGC

2.50 star(s) OK. Nice setting, plays through a nice wooded setting. good variety of shots needed. Lots of trash, for a course so remote it was absurd. No trash cans to be seen. Hard to navigate. Hole layouts not the best dirt pads Ok overall, I did enjoy playing this course, and I Know that disc is...

overrated courses / ones that live up

funny you would say that, untill i had been to flip city, I previously said that hisckory hills was the best course in the state. I would also rank beast in ludington on par with hickory hills. Leviathan gets an honorable mention too, by far the hardest course in michigan.

overrated courses / ones that live up

Everyone has a few courses near them that for whatever reason people seem to place on a pedastool. Since the one that jumps into my mind as being overated goes in soon, it's the appropriate time. Personally, I think that in michigan, the toboggon course at kensington is the most oeverated...

    Michigan-Kensington Black Locust area

If you can only hit one, hudson is a much better course. if you dont want to cut cross town, you can also hit the short 9 hole at bandemer park in ann arbor, or rolling hills in ypsilanti which is one of my personal favorites. those are are both a bit closer of a drive from HM. where are you...

Does Kensington Toboggan Belong top 10?

Toboggen, IMO, is THE most overated course in michigan. With that being said, it is also one of the most difficult courses I have ever played but that is not the reason I think it's overblown. Toboggen is essentially the same shot, with slight variation, over and over. Big, downhill rips that...

    Flip City Gathering

I as well would likely be in. Last time I was in ludington I stayed at mason county campground, also known to many as the campground with the showers. It's literally right next to beauty/beast/goliath, 10 mins from leviathan, and about 45 mins from flip, which is in BFE. While staying at flip...

    Beauty, Beast, Goliath help

If you are going to the area, make Flip City your #1 priority course to play. Beauty and Beast are both really nice courses, we ended up not getting a change to play Goliath since we decided to go back to Flip City a second time as we were so blown away by it. Leviathan is also awesome, and...

    Teesigns

As much as it sucks to say, tee signs will genreally allways get vandalized and baskets will allways get stolen. Personally I think that the best way to combat this is pay to play.
