    Rant about complaining at Worlds.

Nope. This thread identifies a problem we have in our sport and promotes positive change. Thanks for contributing.

    Rant about complaining at Worlds.

Lol, I hear ya Mark. The difference, I think, is that the point of my "rant" is to promote positive change. Unlike what these guys are doing out on the course. In general my rule on complaining is don't do it if you have no intention of being part of a solution. Bottom line, this kind of...

    Rant about complaining at Worlds.

You can't be a perfectionist and appreciate the game of golf at the same time. Maybe try bowling? I disagree, no character trait that leads them to complain also contributes to them being a great player. Striving for excellence and expecting perfection are two very different things. And if you...

    Rant about complaining at Worlds.

I competed in this years Pro Worlds in the Open division and really enjoyed trying to beat the courses even though I would consider my effort far from satisfactory, haha. The point I want to make is simple. I cannot understand the point of competitors complaining about course design flaws or...

    The Slippery Rock Experience

I played in the Open division at Worlds this year and competed on this course and enjoyed it. I'll make a couple of points that I think are relevant. SRU was very different from the other 2 courses used. I can't understand how that isn't a good thing. It highlights different skills and...

Ask PDGA Board Member Peter Shive

Thanks for the response. Are notations about course layout, number of holes and weather/conditions too much info to give out?

Ask PDGA Board Member Peter Shive

Peter, when looking at tournament results you used to be able to see details that included the layout and maybe even conditions. Also you could view course SSA's for every tournament that has taken place at that course. I accessed that information ALL THE TIME. What was the reasoning for...

(insert pro disc golfer's name) leaving (insert established disc golf company name)

I've heard through the grapvine that it was Feldberg because he was running his mouth while they were still trying to keep things under wraps. . .

    Belch'n Turkey (Chattanooga)

The temp course last year was awesome. I'm hoping to be somewhat nearby again this year from Ohio and I'd love to play again.

HOD 08/29/12: Turtlecreek in Lebanon, OH

Its perched on the hill off to the left, definitely a full 420' and the elevation of the hill makes it play a tad longer. Not sure how old the pic is but there are also a couple of medium sized trees now directly in line with the pad and basket. I usually hyzer flip a champ Boss straight off to...

I will be coming up from Ohio and playing MA1. . . never played the course before so I'm looking forward to it. . .

    BHMO

Feldberg had about the best looking drive of the 7 on hole 1 of the final 9 but ended up being stuck in a tree with a 2m rule penalty, ran the putt, missed the comeback, took a 5. Hole 2 shanked it into the woods, 2 throws to get out, missed the putt, took a 5. Hole 5 he 3 putted and got a 4...

Is there a reason that the PDGA does not follow rules?

One of our local sourpuss pro's came to his first hole of the tournament whining and complaining about the same exact thing . . . that he didnt get to play with any of the good players in the first round. He made it a few holes into his round and then DNF'd. I'm sure the supergroup appreciated...

    Worlds Final 9

So impressive. Dangerous green, basket perched on a hill rolling away towards OB road and you can't see it in the vid but there is a lake directly over that hill behind the basket. He's like 50ft out . . . I would NEVER even think about running that putt.

    BHMO

It is completely impressive given how hard the hole is (very difficult green) but it should be noted that its like 45 degrees downhill (down the side of the dam) to the basket. So its not like he threw a putter 340ft into the basket on flat ground. I will be there trying to bring home the...

    Hoover Reservoir Westside Temp Course

Yep, you're gonna have to get past me . . . :) There is the mild possibility of you actually throwing off the dam and into the river on hole 1, haha. There is an OB creek behind the basket of hole 4, an OB swap on hole 6, water behind the basket on hole 12 (not a big deal), you have to throw...

How is no one talking about Cameron Colglazier?

So I can understand quickly attaining the skillset that it takes to become this caliber of player. There are alot of highschool/college players that have the free time to spend on the course or practice field all day. It just takes reps and commitment. What fascinates me is the acquisition of...
