I can report on acetone wiping having no deleterious effects on my vibrams... I actually did this to reduce the very slight "oily" feeling they had when I got them. Interestingly, the ink on the underside that the weights are marked in seems very removable compared to other discs - it faded to a...
I've been using mostly iDye Poly red, blue, and orange myself lately, and they take really well, and pretty fast (I just did a shaving cream dye in 2 hours!) but definitely start with white star (or equivalent) plastic... every attempt to use blue dye on yellow plastic for me so far has produced...
Not sure what you had in mind exactly, but if it were my disc, I would mask the outer rim area at least 1/2" or so from the edge, since it's the rim that does most of the glowing. Looks pretty good the way it is, though. My two cents.
For reals?! Might be a little heavy for the purpose at hand, but I will snag at least one for myself, for sure. I love tossing those around, but it often seems to involve asphalt...
That's an absolutely amazing dye, thanks for making me feel utterly inadequate! :p
As awe inspiring as I find some of the dyes on this forum, I'm still at the point where I can't imagine putting that kind of effort into something that I'll probably shank into oblivion sooner or later, so I...
From what I can tell, the Aero is only available in DX, and while I would totally play some catch with one myself, might be a little harsh for the people I have in mind... Hero Super Star looks pretty much perfect, though... I'll pursue that option, although it looks like the only color options...
Anybody here know of a decent catch (for inexperienced throwers) disc made from something like Star plastic? Larger diameter than a golf disc, but light and understable would be nice... failing that, I'll look for dyable Ultimate discs, I guess. Thanks for any suggestions!
Got mine today, here's a little "review" for anyone who's curious:
It's better constructed than I expected (made in Taiwan, not China) and is perfectly sturdy out to disc radius, at least. It's a little bit of a hassle to go from <15cm to >15cm settings, since you have to unclamp, adjust...
:clap:That is so vastly more imaginative than what I came up with because I couldn't figure out how to remove that !@#$ Anode stamp... has anybody figured out a way to accomplish that yet?
I love the way that's composed. It would be interesting to reverse the shading of the background and the moon, but it might make the disc a little hard to find...
