It may sound fishy as one person put it, but it is true. We played a second round using regular discs. I shot even, Steve shot +4 or so, and Lance shot -14. He's pretty good. He kept telling us to "fear the mini". Ha!
Despite the smack talk, he's one of the nicest guys I know, and has helped...
Yeah, its a short wooded course. A lot of the pins were in the short position, so it averaged like 230-240 or so. He just threw it backhand hyzer. The mini is really understable. It's also a weighted mini, so it goes pretty far actually.
It really does seem like a good way to practice. We kept score like it was a real round, but I was so much more relaxed than normal. I did a lot better than usual which seems to prove the theory that the game is 75% mental.
So I went out with my buddies Lance and Steve today to play Reedy Creek here in Charlotte. The baskets were mostly in the short positions on the course, so my friend Lance (who is borderline pro), decided he would just play using his two mini discs. Steve and I arent the greatest players by any...
My friend just got a basket for Christmas, so we (and another buddy) took it out behind the apartments I live in and made up 18 holes on our own. The area is almost tailor made for DG with plenty of trees and throwing lanes. Each of us took turns placing the basket and determining the tee area...

The Ole Bee Sting
Beautiful Park. One of the best maintained courses Ive played. The front nine is mostly open and gives a chance for some good scoring early. Holes 1 through 6 are fairly easy, nothing crazy although hole 2 has some length for a par 3. Hole 7 is a long open hole dogleg right...

Fun!
Fun course. Good for a beginner like me, but has enough challenge (especially on the back 9) to make it fun for advanced players too. Nice design allows for lots of different shots: some require accuracy, some distance, right and left doglegs. 16 and 17 can be beasts if you dont get a...

A Wolf in Sheep's Clothing
Fun tight course. Short holes for the most part. Technical; good for those with lesser arm strength but consistency off the tee. Can be very unforgiving as the woods are deep and mean throughout. Good variety of shots needed. Nestled in a big beautiful park with lots...

Yarrr!
Insane course design. This course will challenge you on every front: accuracy, distance, mid-range, putting, skill shots, finesse shots, trick shots. Several long open holes that allow you to sling it. 18 is a monster open hole that needs a good arm. 12 is mostly open as well but once you...

Good Ole Sugaw
Great variety of holes. About half wooded and half open. Doglegs to the right and left, tunnel shots, mandos, elevated baskets (one in the middle of a freaking tree!), giant disc-eating magnolia trees, a good wide open field shot, and a couple of tight risk/reward birdie holes...
