How to play without a Cali?

We've played a couple of 3-man best shot rounds, with the caveat that you could only use one shot per person per hole (i.e. if you use player A's drive, only Player B & C throw the second shot. If you then use Player B's upshot, only Player C would get to putt.) We did open it back up to all 3...

[DGA] I just built an all DGA bag

I still refuse to take my Rubber Putters out of my bag. Found one when I started playing and now I'm so comfortable with them I don't think I'll change. Otherwise my bag is all DGA.

Review by jclepa in course Fairways of Fairhope

3.50 star(s) A course with history A few nice little warmup holes start you off in the open, followed by a trek into the woods. Last few holes bring you back into the open. Not an excessive amount of distance required, but accuracy is a must. Great range of shots and holes. As much elevation as you're going...

    Looking for stroller input, advice

Get a fixed front wheel and as large of a wheel as you can find. I found a schwinn jogging stroller on Craigslist for about $40. My son's 3 now, and spends most of his time walking the course (or rather running with some driving and some putting), but he still needs a break every once in a while.

    DGA Elite Shield Bag

Any of you having problems with the bottle holder? The fabric pulled out of the elastic after the first use of mine... They're taking care of it, but it just doesn't seem like it's made to hold a big nalgeen bottle.

    First 100 Disc Golf courses?

The Fairhope Alabama course has some baskets from the old Styx river course (site of one of the first PDGA tournaments in 1977). Does that count?

    Dream course giveaway...

Some of you need to read the fine print again... they are giving away 2 9-hole courses (like last year). One will be based on a written essay, but the other will be a straight raffle draw (like last year). Or you could just not enter at all and give me a better chance...

    any squall fans out there

SP Squalls have more low speed stability than proline, but not that much more high speed stability. I personally can't get them to fly straight up the gut like a proline aftershock, which is what i'm assuming you're looking for. SP squalls will still have a little right to left play just like...

    [DGA] DGA thoughts?

The RDGA isn't very good at all... I had a Tsunami last one throw (okay, so it hit a portable canopy that was set up beside a hole and lost about 2 inches of plastic around the rim.) I also got a 150 RDGA squall thinking it would work as a upshot disc and break in better/faster than a proline...

Creative ways to pair up for doubles

I wish I could take credit for this... but the guy who runs our local double toss has pairs of matching microbrew bottlecaps (in a crown royal bag). Matching pairs form teams. And there's numbers on the back for the starting hole. (2 teams per hole.)

    any squall fans out there

I had the same problem, especially since I only feel comfortable throwing my rubber putters out to about 50 feet. My solution has been to get a 150 class Squall and beat it in... I'm not that happy with DGA's low grade plastic (one throw and a 150 tsunami had a 1 inch chunk of plastic taken out...

    New Flight Chart Update 8-20-10

Spike's got it right on... Early first run Shockwaves were slightly less stable than current production Aftershocks (Though very close). A regular production shockwave should test out to be more stable than either listing. (or at least have a higher power requirement because my puny arm can't...

Review by jclepa in course Riverside Park DGC

2.00 star(s) Good beginner course This is a great spot for a disc golf course. A very picturesque setting around a small river and it's surrounding bluff. Every hole is well marked with tee signs with distances, and the score card has a great routing picture on the back. While there aren't that many...

    rogues...

Rogues are much like a longer faster valkyrie. However, they perform much better with a tailwind; they will get real understable and squirrelly in a headwind. Stable enough to flex out at the end of the drive, but also understable enough at lower weights to keep an anhyzer flight all the way...

    young gun

How about the 12 year old we just have beat a field of 52 intermediate players to win the Blue Angel Classic here in Pensacola Florida. Did I mention that 2nd place was 7 strokes behind him... Is it possible for a 12 year old to be a sandbagger?? He's heading up to play in the Junior Worlds...
