2018 DGPT Jonesboro Open

Hello all-

Just a quick heads up that the MPO and FPO divisions of the 2018 Jonesboro Open Presented by Prodiscus are filling quickly. If anyone has had this one on their radar it may be time to sign up.

We are still five weeks out and there are 26 spots remaining on MPO and 11 on FPO. I am averaging 1 new MPO a day so I think we will fill sooner than later.

Last year I believe we surprised many of you with the quality of the golf and the beauty of the course. This year I think it is going to be better!

Just looked. Not a big fan of not being able to vote for just anyone. Was really wanting some "non-pro" players on a filmed card. By "non-pro" I mean 970 or so

Winning the fan vote in the FPO division was Kona Panis with 2,340 points. Wrapping up the FPO fan vote, Madison Walker took second with 2,171 points, Pixie Cannon third with 1,418 points, Ellen Widboom landed fourth with 945 points, and finally Kelly Tucker with 398 points.

In the MPO fan vote we saw the top three out of ten being placed on a feature card. Seppo Paju won the top card with 2,424 points, A.J. Risley landed second with 1,980 points and Zach Melton grabbed the final spot with 1,790 points. Just outside the feature cards were Garrett Gurthie (1,451pts), JohnE McCray (1,093pts), Nikko Locastro (1,018pts), Josh Anthon (805pts), and Chris Dickerson (778pts). Shifting off the fan vote for the next event will be Paul Ulibarri and Peter McBride as they rounded out the bottom two.

Make sure you are ready to watch live starting at 4pm ET each day April 6th-8th.

I'd guess that the simple answer is that all his Finnish (and European) fans are voting him in. The same thing happens with Simon. (Although he has a huge fanbase here as well.)

According to the PDGA site Paige is now signed up to play. . .Just watched her yesterday on DD live saying she wouldnt make it to Jonesbro on time because she and Tina Stanaitis were out planing Eric and Tinas wedding.

Some of his recent tournament results:
USDGC 2017: 6th
Las Vegas 2018: 15th
Memorial 2018: 6th
WACO 2018: 10th

He may not seem like a top tier contender because you're not used to seeing him much (and hasn't performed particularly well on camera), but the truth is he needs just a bit more consistency and he'll finish top 10 at every A-tier he participates.

Right now they are showing overcast Friday with rain starting around 6 pm. By 7 am Sat. it shows the rain moving out. The temps in the mid 50's and winds 12 to 15 mph. Hope for decent weather and no snow!
