Bag to Bag sharing of ideas

So I last posted my bag in August, and I thought it might be fun to do a compare and contrast to my current bag. There's not a lot of new stuff. I've just started reducing molds (down to 10 from 12 - or 13 if you consider the Buzzz & Buzzz GT a different mold).

From August:
Drivers:
2 Champion Groove - 167 & 169
1 Z Force - 169 & 1 ESP Force - 168
2 ESP Surge - 168 & 169
1 Champion Valkyrie - 173
1 ESP Flick - 148
1 ESP Impact - 176
1 ESP Stratus - 167-169 Sticker
1 Champion TeeBird (11X) - 169 & 1 Champion TeeBird (12X) - 167

Midranges
FLX Drone - 179
Z Buzzz - 170
X Buzzz-GT - 180

Putters
Soft Banger-GT - 174
CryZtal Challenger - 172-174 - Fingers Crossed Dye

Today:
Drivers:
2 Z Force - 169
1 ESP Surge - 168
1 FLX Surge - 169 (still floppy, even in below-freezing temps & will be replaced with a second ESP Surge once the weather breaks a little)
1 ESP Flick - 150
1 11X KC Pro TeeBird - 168 (Flippy and great for long, gentle hyzers)
1 11X Champ TeeBird - 171 (Main - "Distance")
1 11X Champ TeeBird - 170 (Backup - "Fairway")
1 12X Champ TeeBird - 168 (Thumbers and the most overstable)
1 Opto Line Striker - 169 (In on a trial basis but may replace a TeeBird or Surge

Midranges:
1 ESP Impact - 176
1 FLX Drone - 179
1 Z Wasp - 175
1 X Buzzz-GT - 180

Putters:
2 Soft X Banger-GT - 174

The Buzzz GT is about to lose its' tenure (I never thought I would be saying that about the Buzzz) when I finally get my Z Drones (if they ever come in the mail). The Challenger I pulled when I went back to solely throwing Bangers may make a reappearance for driving purposes. I have been playing catch with a buddy's Magnet to warm up at our local Ice Bowls and have really liked it. I may be trading in my Bangers, but I haven't quite made that decision yet.

175 star x-cal(beat)
175 champ x-cal (NEW)
175 star x-cal (straight forehand)
175 star boss
175 pro boss
175 tee rex

175 star max
177 dx roc(beat)
180 star coyote
180 kc roc
175 rhyno
175 dart
175 sss warlock
Throw all that in a FADE bag and add a Star Mako and you're set.

150 DX Polecats- general putting, approaching and drives
150 DX Rhyno- specific putts/approaches/drives
150 DX Rocs- various stages of wear from overstable to understable
150 DX/Champ/Star Leopards- generally up to 330'
150 DX/Champ/Star Teebirds- generally up to 360'
150 Champ Firebird- for Firebird stuff
150 R-Pro Bosses- for wide open distance

Sometimes I will change out the Leos for some 150 TP Cyclones I have.
Sometimes I will put in a 175 Champ Leo, a 175 Champ Firebird, and a 175 Champ Boss for rollers and trick shots.

I have been all 150 class for over a year and I like it. It makes me pay attention to clean form, smooth delivery and release, wind, etc. In short it is making me control my discs if I expect performance.

I'm not normally into posting the discs in my bag but I noticed 2009 involved shifting to fewer drivers and more mids and putters. I'm amazed by how few mids some of you folks carry. Mine are all max weight.

I expect 2010 will lead me to fewer molds...and a NUKE!

You putter is no good outside of 50ft ft? I throw a putter up to 190ft.
Some people just can't THROW putters. I could and can lob putt the lights out inside 35' but outside of that my Aviar P&A would always turn over. I couldn't release it properly. Then I discovered beaded putters last year and everything changed. Now I'll throw a putter (Vibram VP or Pig) upto 220'.

Voodoos S/M - 168, 172, 175
Rocs - DX Flat, 12X Pro, 2 other DX wearing nicely

Avenger - 1 ESP, 1 Elite X
Valkyrie - 1 champ, 1 Star w/ some wear, 1 beat up roller disc

Pretty good balance there. Kind of heavy on the mids and your fastest disc isn't too fast. Probably the right kind of approach and the fastest disc I have in my bag is a Viking. High speed drivers scare me. Learning to throw slower speed stuff has it's benifits.

Thanks for the compliment. My bag 5 months ago had 15 molds in it.

My "high" speed stuff goes 350 golf D for me with decent control. If I could get a Wraith to go near 400, I'd add it but until then there's no need for it.

Mids:
180 ESP Buzzz (oldest disc in the bag)
180 Eco Star Roc with 20th aniv stamp
178 FLX Drone

Drivers: From Understable to Overstable)
168 beat in Pro Destroyer
170 FLX Avenger SS
175 Star Katana with 2010 pro worlds stamp
171 Champion Orc
175 Champion Leopard
174 FLX Surge
172 Star Destroyer (With Detrot Tigers custom dye)
172 Elite Z Force
175 Champion Teebird
171 Star Firebird
175 Champion Boss
174 ESP Nuke
175 Star Xcaliber
172 Elite Z Avenger (trial driver)
175 Star Destroyer (with Dragon dye)
175 Champion Firebird

Approach:
175 beat to hell DX XD
175 Star Rhyno

Putters
2 identical 175 Soft Wizards

and I have a 172 ESP force and a 170 Star destroyer I'm going add once I pus some custom dyes on them.

Probably going to replace the orc and one other disc the avenger unless it works great.

I also have a crystal Z buzzz I want put in there that I have been throwing well. Probably going to replace the ESP buzzz

Any tips would be appreciated.

Yes, I know this is A LOT of molds. I am one of the few proponents of the multiple mold/let the disc do the work philosophy.

If we don't let the disc do what it was designed to do, why don't we all just throw one disc?

So you've been playing .6yrs according to your post header(?) does that mean you started out with a bunch of discs? Wow.

I think the best thing new players can do is get a putter and a mid or fairway driver and learn the hell out of those before expanding. I certainly don't know "best". I never learned to throw a Roc 300' (and never will) before getting a driver. I feel like that's the common advice out there.

My bag will change slightly depending on the course, but generally it's something like:

Surge
Spirit
Savage
Sabre
Apache

Mids:

Element
Buzzz
Warrior

Putters:

Whoops! more like 3 months ago. I did start out small: 3 discs for a month, and then to about 6-8 after three. Then I pulled all the distance drivers out and played with an Aviar, Roc, Coyote, Teebird, and Leopard for a month.

Once I knew enough to be dangerous, I had some fun trying just about everything. Now I'm pruned back in molds, though I learned alot by experimenting and trying to make different shots. But I realized that out of 15 molds, I really only used 5 or 6 in a typical round. So I posted my "Big Bag" which easily condenses to a 14 or 8 disc version.
