Bag to Bag sharing of ideas

Discs marked with * are new and being tested

Specialty Discs:
Aerobie Epic - all overhand shots and left turning divers
Quest The Wheel - rollers

Divers:
165 Z Wildcat - long and straight then hard left
169 Star Destroyer - upwind and gentle left turns
* 165 Nate Doss Surge - wow....this baby flies for me!
150 Surge - beat for anything that needs to go right or can't fade
151 Champ Monarch - long and straight with a tiny bit of fade
150 Z Flick - goes left hard and goes left NOW, also for distance overhands
150 ESP Avenger - shorter than the Monarch, but I CAN get this one to "S"
* 166 FLX Avenger SS - hubby loves his, but I'm just not sure yet (hate FLX)
164 Slipstream GT - looong S shots, needs room to work (replaced Valkyrie)

Fairways:
150 Champ Eagle - turns left
150 DGA XL - goes really, really straight
150 JLS - my tree disc - I can make this thing do crazy S shots
150 Champ Leopard - control and tight distance

Mids:
150 Z Storm - far and straight with a bit of fade, S approaches
150 Impact - dead straight or anny lines
* X Buzzz GT - lots of fade on this one, this is the 1st Buzzz I've really liked
160 Champ Panther - for tricky approaches, she'll hold any line

Putters:
180 Star Aero - long or windy putts, tight or anny approaches
174 Soft Banger GT - slightly stable putter (I now have 5 of these, JIC)

I've been looking for a very understable fairway/driver but just ditched my Sidewinder. I HATE that disc. It was soooo inconsistent for me (I'm really glad I'm not the only one to feel that). I'm hoping to try the Stratus to fill that spot.

I use a Stratus as an understable Mid. I have for a long time and I really like it.

I hope you don't use the Wheel in tourneys, it's not PDGA approved anymore.

I just got a 167 Champ TeeBird today and not sure how it flies. My eagle is done and i cant find another of exactly what im looking for, so im goin with the teebird till i find a new eagle.

I've got exactly that disc. When I started playing 3yrs ago it was my overstable driver. Now it's my hyzer-flip right-turning disc. If I just throw it hard and flat (RHBH) it will turn over in less than 200'. It holds a great line though. Sadly, it's working its way out of my bag.

I cant help thinking that you should drop the aero, at 180gms i would guess that kills alot of hte float, hence you can use it in the wind. which is kinda contrary to your banger situ.

Seeing as you have 5 bangers (i have 4) i would say take a lighter and more beat banger in place of the aero for long putts and annies, the stability natural of the banger should make it better than the aero in the wind too...

Bangers, Wizards, Big Bead Aviars and the new ace race disc are all in the same ilk, and as im sure youve heard they are the Rocs and Buzzes of the putting world....

I look for discs as heavy as I can find:

1 Max (champ)
1 X-Calibur (champ)
2 Boss (champ)
1 Orc (champ)
2 Sidewinders (champ) - roller disc
2 Super Roc
1 Star Roc (ontario)
2 86 mold Softie
1 Innova regular mini (from my last amateur event - Texas State Overall Championships 1989 that reminds me of my victory that year)

In the pockets of my Texas Team Revolution bag there are assorted items:

Sanding block
pencils
extra minis
sunflower seeds
rule book
competition manual
sunglasses sock
1 small blue marble that I found on the course in Norman, OK. Mitch MacClellan was with me when I picked it up and he suggested keeping it in the bag for luck. It's been there since around '93.

I'm not sure if this was covered yet, but a lot of guys I play with just keep as many discs as they can in their bag at all time. If they win or get a new disc, they just keep it and throw it or whatever. There are guys who carry 30+ discs. I guess what I want to know is how do you know when to throw what?

I now carry the big fade bag and my 10 discs (I carry 2 identical putters so I don't always have to mark my lie) look a little lonely, so I cram my towel in the other side of the bag to take up the room. I have found that if I carry more discs I become a lot more inconsistant. Beyond that, if I carry lots of molds, I get confused on what I wanna throw.

I like how you created a whole new section AND added shark to it haha. Shark is not as bad as its rep. I threw it for awhile, untill i got a new roc.

I have a bunch of discs in a plastic tub in my car, what can I say, I get GAS. But when I play an actual round I only carry:

2xDX Valk (2 because I have a tendency to "almost" lose them)
Z Buzzz
Aviar P&A

Soon they'll be joined by a DX Gazelle and an SS Wizard that will probably replace the Aviar. I use the Buzzz for probably 75% of what I throw.

You know what to throw by expirence. Keeping the same discs in the bag and hitting the field.

Hehe. I kind of agree with him though. I'd consider using my Sharks in a one disc round, but I'd rather use my Buzzz. If I'm on the far end of the Shark's range, I'd use the Buzzz. If I'm in close and wanting to putt, I'd use a putter. So, I end up using the Shark if I think I might lose the disc or in weird situations like where I need to throw a hammer.

Hyzer flight = turns the opposite direction that the disc is spinning
Anhyzer flight = turns the same direction the disc is spinning

Example: If a right-handed player throws a backhand throw that flies high with a noticable turn to the right, that is an anhyzer flight. A lot of times an anhyzer flight will finish with the disc hitting the roll shoulder and roll in a right-to-left circle when it hits the ground.
