That quote was from 2017. Louisiana instituted sports betting in 2021. But I agree on not trusting google search.

Dog racing was recently banned in Florida. My wife's uncles worked at the Jacksonville track and owned a few retired greyhounds.

Thats oddly sane and humane for ..... Florida. Had a retired racer myself...Miss No Tail Dream...aka Beans! She was a wonderful dog and friend. RIP

Not that anything can't be done once but his best finish has been 29th at this event. Looking over his schedule it appears he has only played this 3 times. Last in 2020 and 33rd place finish. Nice player, appears to be on the back side of his career. More likely winners, Paul, Eagle, Calvin, Simon, Gannon and Drew always seems to hang around near the top these past few years.

Hope he plays and does well.

Has Vegas ever offered odds in a tournament ?
Sure would lay a lot of $$ on Kevin Jones next year, especially at The Memorial

As someone who has worked in the casino business....you won't see sports betting in something like Disc golf and the reason is too much risk and no reward.....all it takes is someone with inside knowledge that the house does not have (not difficult in a fringe sport like Disc golf) and the house is opened up to far more risk than they would ever be willing to undertake. Look for paypal casino that is about instant withdrawal and no deposit. As far as the reward.....even DGCR has to admit that for comparison purposes no one at all would wagor on the sport. You can't even get people to watch it let alone pay for it and you expect them to gamble on it? Yes yes a few thousand people may watch online but I shouldn't have to point out how tiny of a number that is.

Uhm, there are a few points that I'd like to address.

Firstly, I wanna note that while Disc golf may not currently have a large viewership or a widespread betting culture, that doesn't necessarily mean it couldn't develop in the future. Many sports gain popularity over time, and as Disc golf continues to grow, so too could the interest in betting on its outcomes)

Secondly, let's analyze more widely, the fact that insider knowledge poses a significant risk to the house can be applied to any sport, not just Disc golf. Sportsbooks have measures in place to mitigate this risk, such as monitoring suspicious betting patterns and imposing restrictions on certain bets... Yep, some fringe sports may have less scrutiny, but it doesn't mean that sportsbooks wouldn't take precautions or adapt their strategies if Disc golf were to gain more traction in the betting world.

Moreover, just because the viewership numbers may be smaller compared to more mainstream sports doesn't mean that there wouldn't be a market for betting enthusiasts interested in Disc golf:)

I just believe it's premature to dismiss the possibility of sports betting in the sport altogether. I see it as any emerging sport. That's all the theory.

New stats are needed to more accurately account for the true game which is against the types of courses not so much against players. Ball golf has narrowed their competitive course design for PGA events to a much tighter range of parameters such as par, lengths and hazard elements making stats more meaningful and useful for assessing gambling odds. DG has a ways to go in this regard and I don't see it happening soon.

I wrote without the link, what I wrote before. Discgolf is already 7-8 years being available in Scandinavia for betting and it will grow to everywhere else also. The sport has grown and as soon as we brake the regular tv coverage everything changes fast.
And it is not the bad thing. I am nacional association board member and PDGA Country cordinator in Estonia and legalised gambling is part of the popular sports like the broadcasts.
