I recently moved up to play "open," as a "local pro," to make cash as a "semi-pro." I forget where we landed on that whole deal. I don't play for the cash, just don't care to take home any more "merch," and can generally compete locally if I can avoid the tourney jitters.
Also play in various local leagues for a handful of dollars. I generally make the cash, and win every now and again. I am a competitor, and play to win, but I find enjoyment out of it. But also enjoy just getting out with the local community and friends.
I typically just try to keep my "league wallet" full, where I don't need to go get cash to go play. Been cycling some dollars for a couple years, so I don't do it for profit.
