As you can see below in my sig, I have a pretty complete bag. However, I am lacking in a straight fairway driver that will not flip badly in a slight headwind but doesn't have much fade. I have some OLD (2002ish) KC Pro Teebirds (really champ material, as it's clear) but I'd rather not use them for obvious reasons. :D They are very straight with a slight fade and flip-resistant. What would fly like them? TB3s? The new FD2? Another manufacturer? I'd appreciate any input.

FWIW, I can get a TB out to about 400' and max out around 500', so my form is pretty good and discs fly true to their flight #s.

Give the Opto Explorer a go, should be very close to a HSS but not OS Teebird. :)
Also Legacy Rival is really sweet, just not quite as HSS i emagine.

Max weight C line FD might work. No idea how they'd fly with 500' power though.....

They make a + mold Champion and G Star Teebird still I think, it is on the main Innova page for the Teebird. TB3 is less a glide version of the Teebird but faster by one speed. Another disc you could go with Is a Banshee Speed 7, a slower Firebird too in Champion.

If you don't have any problems with trying an overmold disc... Get a Crave and thank me later...

Yes a Banshee is a Slower Firebird like disc well, between a Thunderbird and Firebird disc if you get Champion plastic for that disc. The other DX plastic gets flippy after a few years of use. I should have specified on that. Thanks for making me say that better Brutalbrutus.

Actually that gif was for recommending a disc that is completely different than what the OP asked for...

However, I am lacking in a straight fairway driver that will not flip badly in a slight headwind but doesn't have much fade.

A straight fairway driver that doesn't have much fade has never been confused with a Banshee...

Well maybe a beat to death banshee...

Why not just get an everyday off the shelf champ or star Teebird?

Agrees, and get the highest weight you feel comfortable using. This will help make disc more overstable. If that does not work then get the MF Champion to help. Good thing is Teebirds are easy to sell, number of people use them.

A light(er) weight Champion Banshee might be fine for the OP's level of power. The Banshee is no Firebird (IMHO), but yes, it's overstable.

As I look at the OP's message, the first thing that came to mind was the FD, probably best in C-line plastic. A heavy Star TL3 might work if the Teebird fades more than the OP wants.

Depending on what you like the feel of a new Star TL could be good, maybe also a heavy Stag, or Proton Crave.

Btw... you need to post a pic of those KC Birds. You cant bring up a disc like that and not give us the disc porn...;)
