So can someone tell me where the nearly $100 difference between the Magellan and the Innova backpack is? I'm not seeing it.

Pencil holder, less mesh on the front portion that the Nova is sitting in, and Innova's name.
No, it isn't if it really is what it appears to be. I don't regret my Magellan purchase, but for $110-$120 I would.

Get an Upper Park and save your money.

PS: Also, the Magellan appears to have better shoulder straps and cushioning! Eff it all, another cash-grab by Innova.
I'm not sure why they even bothered. Except for the Wizard and the Buzzz Innova has created every classic time tested and copied molds. Why not design a Bag worthy of those molds? It's as bad as puking out garbage Destroyers with 4x stamps.

Yea, if they stepped the quality up (which it looks like they did not) then yes it might be worth it, but my guess is that they are trying to recoup their investment right away.

Turrible. Innova can, and should, do much better than re branding a $30 bag and quadrupling the price. This is awful. WHY?!?!
