is this the longest hole in the world?

Hole 3 at Buddy Butts Park in Jackson, Mississippi, is 1030 feet long. Flat and wide open, but just to the left of the hole is the old Hydrologic/Hydraulic scale model of the Mississippi River Basin German POWs built during WWII. Kind of cool for this Civil Engineer nerd.

I would add hole 9 at Stafford lake at 1050' usually. (950' in the short spot)with a couple of choke points due to trees and a left to right wind that is almost constant. Always fun even it I almost always bogey on the par 5.... or worse.
I know there is a 1000 plus hole at New Hogan also but too lazy to look it up as I haven't been there. Both in Ca.

The funny part of the Swain hole is the effective length. PDGA guidelines say take elevation drop (550), multiply by 3 (1,650) and subtract by length (1,650) for effective length (zero feet). what should par be on a hole with an effective length of zero ft be?

...any others over 1000'? :)

Flyboy #18 should probably be deleted as extinct, or temporary.

Flyboy #7 is still there.

Flyboy #18 ran up the runway. Another hole, Flyboy Viper layout #1, goes down the runway in the opposite direction, about as far. However, use of the runway is only permitted on Sunday mornings, when planes cannot use it. Factor in with the limited availability of Flyboy itself, and it's a pretty temporary situation.

Fixed Winthrop for you...

I have played a couple of holes with a zero (or negative) length based on that formula. Strangely, I haven't aced any of them them...

Black Diamond Disc Golf Course at Emery Park Hole 1 is 1166' from the Gold tees. This one also plays down a ski slope.

Sunnybrook in Sterling Heights MI has two over 1000ft. one is 1032ft and the other is 1146ft. total course length is over 11,000.

That rule of thumb breaks down a bit on the really steep up or down holes, a linear estimation isn't quite right.

Why do you count Flyboy as a course when anyone can't just go and play it? It's not listed in this site...

Hell, If we're counting courses that are closed to the public, then I've got a 10,000 foot hole at my private course. I win.
