Post a cool disc golf photo

Obviously, the growth in PDGA memberships is the big takeaway, but I could help but notice...
Isn't that #1 at Maple Hill as the backdrop?

Spending Father's Day with my son, playing Maple Hill in a couple of weeks! :D

Yes, throw one from the back tee in the photo. It would likely be a lost disc for me, and a few more to follow. Have fun! and what a memory.

I accidentally deleted the image. Here is the original and a couple more from a recent Idlewild round:

That looks like Chris McCandless's bus from 'Into The Wild".

It is the same kind of bus.

The actual bus is currently being restored/preserved by the engineering department at the University of Alaska in Fairbanks. The Museum of the North, which is on that campus, will house it as a permanent exhibit when the restoration is complete.

The Museum of the North is small, but worth it if you are already up there. Also worth taking the short trip out of town to see a section of the pipeline that has a small display explaining how it works. Also some actually fantastic restaurants in Fairbanks including The Crepery and Soba, which is a Moldovan restaurant, believe it or not.

It's been a good trip so far.

Yesterday morning was beautiful and pleasant at the home course Munden Point. Wind started picking up around 15 mph, and walking in the shade felt like A/C. These pictures are No. 8 what I've heard several call the 'postcard hole" including a visitor I caught up with later in the round. A day like this, I wish I could play all day out there. The water is the North Landing River which leads out to the Atlantic.

Left- About halfway down fairway both baskets No. 8, and No. 9 short tee to the right. Its a shared fairway, in less than 3 years just short of 400 rounds I've donated about two dozen discs into the water, the last one a Thunderbird DX that had been in my bag two years.

Middle-C1 is water edge for long 8. The bench is the only I've sat on at any disc course, just peaceful espeacilly late afternoon looking out towards the west.

Right-With the wind whipping around spent a little time with some wind putting practice, you can see the tree to the right blowing right to left. To the left 9 long tee. All the way up fairway in the dark about 550 feet is 8 short tee, and 650 feet 8 long tee from where I'm standing waters edge.

Another practice basket in Alaska, this time at the Cooper's Landing Brewery.

The owner of the brewery always wanted to have a submarine. So he bought the orange craft in the background. I first thought it was a bathysphere, but it's an escape boat for deepwater drilling rigs.

These good people, club members of Coastal Virginia Disc Golf Club hosted the Munchkin Mayhem this morning at Bayville DGC in Virginia Beach. Free for the munchkins and there were a lot of them, they were given a starter pack, a clinic, other goodies, and a round with their escort likely parents. Wished I would have known, would have brought my grandson, and more than happy to sacrifice playing a third round to clear the course.
