    Beating in discs....clarification

At this point in my disc golf career, I definitely prefer the stiffer discs. I think it's easier for those of us newbies to throw them consistently....kinda like game improvement irons in ball golf. Perhaps they mask a tiny bit of the flaws in my form. I am starting to get a feel for the...

    Beating in discs....clarification

What about new discs that are more flexible ? Would they behave like an older disc that is beat in ? I am a fan of star plastics and they they are worth the extra $, but I recently bought one that is ridiculously flexible almost rubbery. It is star plastic. Sure hate that they aren't able to...

    Beating in discs....clarification

Being a relative noob, I understand that a discs characteristics will change when "beat in". Am I correct that "beat in" is just another way of saying that disc has become more "flexible" ? And, a disc that is more "flexible" is more likely to lose some of its stability, making it easier to...

New star Wraith vs new dx wraith...big difference?

I had a 164 star wraith that was my go to driver. My replacement star wraiths have been hit or miss at best. I have one that is domey (164) and one that is flat (164) both are 12X and both couldn't be MORE DIFFERENT than my original disc (also a 164 12X) My original was very stiff and...

    Baskets, Baskets, Baskets

I have a Lightning DB5 and like it. I added a second row of inner chains - Home Depot $20 bucks total...(20 links per chain if I remember correctly - you'll need 9 of them) Looks just like the baskets at the courses now. I actually welded mine together (they come apart 3 pieces) It is...

    www.discgolfmuseum.com?

He's a Denton Texas guy - which makes him ok in my book. I've bought several discs and a bag from him. Might not respond immediately, but he's just 1 guy trying to make a living off disc golf. He's quite a golfer as well. For what it's worth, I'd feel comfortable recommending him.

    Inbetween discs question.

Ahhh, thanks for the suggestions. Just remembered I have a brand new Buzz that my brother-in-law gave me a month back or so....just have to find it & give it a whirl. Will pick up a Roc next time I'm by the dics store - I hear that name popping up more and more.

    Inbetween discs question.

Been playing since November and currently addicted- probably 4-5 rounds a week. Getting better, no doubt the time spent on this site has helped. I have in my bag: 164 star wraith, 168 Star TL (my new favorite disc), DX Teebird, JLS 165gm, Champion sidewinder, Star shark 172gm, and a magic...

    The NutSac

I've had one (original brown) for about 5 months now. I have at least 7 rounds in the rain. Water does nothing to it. I play between 4 and 7 rounds a week. It has held up great. I carry 6 discs, and though it's kinda tight, they all fit pretty easily. Those stupid little burrs that...

    A tale of 2 wraiths

Both the discs are "star" plastic. Is there a difference in the colors ? Both discs were purchased new, and from the same store & shipment (that's not to say that one couldn't have been on the shelf for a while before it got to the store) They are both the same weight. They are just...

    A tale of 2 wraiths

Bought a star wraith a few weeks back - 163 gram kinda yellowish/pink. Love it. So, I figure I'd go back and buy another and rotate them. Same weight (163) but bright yellow. I bought these at the same store and the discs came from the same shipment - this particular store sells a ton of...

    Aces 2010

My very 1st ever. Happened last Wednesday. Lake Lewisville #16 with a StarTL I've hit that basket so many times....finally one stayed in.

    Possibly getting it?

That Masterbeato technique/video is fantastic. Yesterday, after watching the video, I took my wife out to play. She's very athletic, but wasn't really throwning the disc worth a flip... Since I come from a ball golf background, I know that you should NEVER attempt to teach your...

Disc rotation....or lack there of ?

Ahhh..... I can buy that. It took another of my buddies to notice it. We kept watching and it really, really did look like it came out of his hand with very little spin and then it was like it starting to spin faster 30 feet out or so....

Disc rotation....or lack there of ?

RHBH DX teebird now consistently at 300' Playing a round the other day with a guy I had just met I noticed that when he threw his drives the disc almost seemed to come out with little to NO rotation and then it would start to rotate about 30 or so feet out. I never would have noticed, but he...
