Pushing the carpet, aka bracing your putts.

Hey folks, Just had a pretty major "aha" moment when practicing my putts in the basement. Putting has always been my biggest weakness and it's been dragging the rest of my game behind for years when it comes to competitive play. This offseason I focused heavily on reworking just about...

    [MVP] Octane

Super impressed with this disc. I've been frustrated with ever changing Destroyer runs for a while and been trying to replace SDS's. Nothing really did the job until I got my hands on an Octane. My 165 gram Octane flew very similarly to my longest flying Destroyers right out of the box. I found...

    [Putters] Non-Innova Rhyno

If you are dead set on moving away from Rhynos I'd also consider Sinus by Latitude 64. I swapped bags for a round with a friend and found Sinus to be pretty much precisely the same flight as my own Rhyno. It does feel very different in your hand though.

    [Putters] Non-Innova Rhyno

I ordered 3 of these from Innovastore around April. It's been my go to approach disc and still flies exactly the same as out of the box even though I play very wooded courses in Finland. I take all three out to field often and can't tell the difference between the one I've been using and the 2...

    [Innova] The Tern!

I don't throw Tern too much these days, but when I do boy does it still travel. Threw 475 feet opening shot with a hyzer flip in Järva hole 2 (15m past the basket). It's a slight downhill hole and had some tailwind going for me. Can't think of a more perfect disk than Tern for those shots.

    [Discraft] Official Discraft ZONE Thread

Wow. This has been my absolute go to OS approach disc for a few weeks now. Flicks, thumbers, backhand flex shots, spike hyzers, even a short range skip shots, Zone can do it all for me. I carry a couple of Pro Rhynos for regular stability, but when I really need overstability it's gonna be a Zone.

    Stand still practice shot.

So, to get the timing exactly right. Reachback extends until weight shifts from back leg to front leg (from big toe to heel) at which point arm starts moving forward. Then the drive from hips should come at same time as the disc is reaching my chest/core are at which point I should accelerate...

    Stand still practice shot.

Thanks. I do see I was more rotating rather than pushing off my left foot now. That rear arm point is good. That's something I've never thought about, just tried to keep the left hand out of the way in general.

    Stand still practice shot.

I know I'm not focusing on completely extending my reach back right now. That's because I've tried to keep everything as loose as possible during the reach back to avoid strong arming which has always been a problem for me. Just trying to get the looseness to my muscle memory if you understand...

    Stand still practice shot.

 Thanks for your tips I certainly understand what you mean about knee driving inwards now after you pointed it out and I have tons to work with now. Oh and you certainly don't need to sugarcoat anything. The level of disc golf isn't very high where I come from and there's not really many...

New to the forum. Always looking to improve.

I posted a video of a stand still practice shot to the technique forum under form analysis. Quality is pretty crappy as it was taken with a cellphone. Will try to get my hands on a better camera this week .

    Stand still practice shot.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iw06WhI-Egg Been working whole winter on getting rid of strong arm syndrome and trying to get as much power as I can from my hips. I've definetly improved a lot but I still feel like I could do better. Sorry about the quality of the video, I'll try to get a...

New to the forum. Always looking to improve.

Hi everyone. I decided to register here after reading through some great threads concerning technique. It's offseason here in Finland and I've been trying to improve both my backhand and forehand form and also to introduce reliable spike/knife hyzers and anhyzers to my game. I'm a competitive...
