[Putters] Kastaplast Berg

I bought a K2 glow Berg to fit in between my jk aviars (which I can't flick) and my zone. I do like it for this slot, but i definitely find it glidier than everyone else describes. I like it for forehand anny's when pinched left size of a wooded fairway, it flexes to flat while still advancing, versus something like the zone which will flex way earlier. Reminds me a lot of the Innova Pig in that sense.

Mine in glow may be different than others though, it's got a big ol pop top and is super flexy. Id like to grab one that has less glide to really fit that short-stop approach everyone else gets from this disc.

Check out the picture, I can't get it out of my head that it looks exactly like an unused condom lol.

MORE JEFF ASH PORN
UNSURE OF THE ARTIST BUT OH YES

Has anyone had experience with a beat to piss K3 yet? Or at least quite beat up?

As I said in VIP, beautiful discs are meant to fly:

An old picture for fun, back to Jeff:

I've joined the Berg crew. Played a dubs tournament today and hit a 50 footer death putt downhill with my fresh K3 Berg. Really feelin it!

Welcome to the crew. Most of don't actually putt with them. You're methods are unorthodox but so is the Berg.

Haha I pulled it out because I was putting towards a cliff downhill. Was sort of a half lay-up half run... definitely will mostly be using it for upshots, but this one hit the target :)

Odd, when I would putt with the berg it was great because I had to commit to my putts. There was no such thing as a half run.

Again, it was downhill, towards a cliff. Didn't need much heat to get it there. Was wanting to drop it at the foot of the basket, but I dropped it right in.

After a couple of weeks throwing the berg now, it's be a go-to for approaching the basket. Absolutely love it!
Also using it for short drives off the tee going downhill.

I get it for sure. I absolutely love throwing the Berg downhill. No unpredictable glide out. I was throwimg mine a bit more when I played in Aspen the last two Kiss the Skys

I have a few K3 that are seasoned. They are both very flat topped and were definitely less stable than K2. I didn't like the K2 but use K3 a lot. I couldn't deal with the K2 floppiness feeling on FH.

Both my K3 have a hint of turn (had none when new) and a little fade (had a little more fade when new) but are mostly dead straight. While there is a hint of turn, its weird in that I will see it on full power BH shots where a slight hyzer will pop, but I won't see it on a FH approach. I only throw them like 220' I'm guessing so you may get more turn if you have more juice.

What I love about the K3 Berg is that it is essentially dead straight at all power levels FH and BH and will always dump (not so much fade out but just run out of steam and go to sleep) so you can always take an aggressive swing. Its the most perfectly stable disc IMO. K3 feels great in hand for both BH and FH with this mold.

Its a great compliment to a zone for approaches.

I finally picked up a K1 Berg 175g a couple of weeks ago based on some suggestions from locals and other sources. This is one cool disc... to throw! I love how unglidey and overstable it is. I can basically throw it about half of my max distance for any disc, which makes a great winter training device since I have to throw it like a driver just for it to go 180'!

Since then I have picked up two more Aces on shorter holes [168' "sky hyzer" around a bunch of tres and a 110' open hole while warming up]. It's also become my go-to approach disc when I have to go around those pesky trees.

Now that I am part of the Berg club, where do I get my jacket?

I also just picked up a K1 Berg a couple weeks ago. I finally got a chance to throw it on Sunday. I love that thing so far. I was putting that thing right where I wanted it. I love the feel of the plastic and the mold in general. This is going in the bag for sure.

To me the K2 BERG is the best and most OS one, love my blank K2s.. . another good one is the K1 Glow

A K3 for straight approches that lands flat and a OS K2 for those short hyzer approaches and you are set from 180ft and in

Weird how their gummiest plastic is the most OS for you. My K2 Berg is more understable than my K1s or K3.

Yes thats wierd. . For me the Glow K1 and K2 are close in stability. .the normal K1 a hair less stable. . But all my K3s are way less stable and even has a different shape to them.

Never seen a K3 with close to the same "center dome" as a K2

I'm with Jolt, weird the K2 (or K1 for that matter) is more understable than K3 for you. First time I've ever heard anyone say that.

I only have one K2 and one K3, but a few K1s. The K3 definitely doesn't have the same shape, like Jolt was saying, but it was just as beefy (out of the box at least) as my K1s. Doesn't make sense with it being the base plastic, maybe I got an outlier.

My K2 are also definitely more overstable than K3. K3 starts a little overstable and quickly becomes very straight. I feel like mine are 1/1/-.5/1 after playing with them for a bit. K2 I don't like/play with as much but I would put them at 1/1/0/2.

Okay, my initial point was more was more geared towards the claim that K2 was more OS that K1. Is the consensus that everyone's K2s are more OS than their K1s??

I feel like on a strong backhand rip the K2 turns a little more and fades a little more than k1. My couple k1s were very straight when thrown hard, where my k2s finish more lefr (RHBH)
So I can see how someone would feel k2 is more OS.

Umm honestly don't know, for me personally they're about the same? Haven't done too much field work with my stack, and love the dyed glow in my bag so haven't thrown K2s too much. Hell, I don't throw the Berg all too often so I've yet to switch to K2 for winter. Next round I'll throw in one of the other pretties I posted and get back to you!
