[Innova] Innova Lycan

Opti you should try a C-MD2. from what I have heard it is basically a better coyote/mako

Yeah I tried the 1st run mako. It was too neutral and straight for me. I like to work lines and always felt a disc needs a hint of low speed fade to do that. The mako was perfectly straight out of the box. I am tempted to get one again as they are probably great discs to clean up form with.

* Coyote

I have several star Coyotes. They are more stable and handle wind better than a Fuse or Mako. Great disc for low power or straight shots with a consistent gentle hyzer finish. The P-MD-2 is more stable than the Coyote.

I have only thrown Star...and yes just enough stability to throw low speed predictable shots....for me

That's a legit complaint. Mako's are ridiculously straight flying discs over a surprisingly wide range of speeds. Since the rim/wing is so similar to the Coyote, I thought it might feel nice in your hand, which is a big determining factor in how I choose my midranges. They're all easy to control, but some just feel right...

The CMD2 is a better driving mid, and definitely better in the wind. But the Mako is a better touch disc and holds anny lines better. I carry both.

From what I've heard the mako is a lot like the DMD2's once they're beat in.

This is another big reason I like the coyote. It just fits perfectly in my hand. I've tried several other discs (including the mako) but none of them feel as "right" as the coyote does.

I wish you guys would quit comparing Coyotes and Fuses. The Coyote is more of a jack of all trades neutral to slightly overstable disc while the Fuse is an understable specialist. :\ This is Gospel truth b/c back in the day THE Midnight Biker himself use to tell people to take their Buzzz and shove it b/c the Coyote was all the straight mid he needed. ;)

I'll miss the Coyote though, that rounded rim made it a great mid for beginners and it is a yeoman's, unsung hero kind of mold.

Feel is the key word here. For me, Coyote was too deep a rim. Decent disc, but not for my Burger King hands. For someone with big ole lumberjack man hands it probably is a winner. The whole what disc is better than other discs thing fuels many of the DGCR threads, but in many ways is total crap. So much of this sport is personal feel and preference. Throw what you like, the he'll with everybody else.

^2nd that emotion.

I've got long gangly fingers, and I badly broke my hand so my pinky is kinda set weird. A lot of discs just don't fit right into my grip, and the coyote is the perfect disc for my messed up hand and fingers.

Just started throwing it alot again and here we go for some reason half the discs in my bag are a pain in the a$$ to find and when you do they cost 25 bux or more any body wanna trade me some coyotes

Transform your game. Attack your Mid-Range drives with this birdie-thirsty relative of the Mako. The Lycan has a beefy rim that releases clean. The higher dome produces excellent glide, while the blunt profile provide a trustworthy finish. This disc is designed not to flip, but will hold a line nicely.

is it me or does that sound suspiciously a lot like the MD2?

beefier rim that's easy to release... i'm guessing they mean it's a plus mold. blunt nose just like the MD2..

I'll laugh if it's a beadless MD2. Laugh like a fox. :|

Strange disc. Blunt nose, big dome, plus rim (perhaps), glidey but stable? Innova is describing it as a wind fighting straight flying midrange driver now...

They're wedging another disc between the Roc+, Shark, Mako, and Coyote. A profile pic might help demystify this thing...
