the other thread devolved into some discussion not about the disc...I heard from a friend that the ace race disc is like a buzzz but faster and he was getting an extra 40 feet of D with it.

Interesting I am guessing this one will get a bee like nickname

Anyone else throw it?

So, is it similar to a QJLS? (I asked this in the other thread but didn't get much response)

If anything, I'd call it a SLOWER Stalker. I know it's semantics, but yeah, it's faster than a Buzzz but the two I got both had very Stalker-esque qualities. The only one I saw that flew like a Buzzz was my buddy geofflaw's, and it's flight plate was warped (wierd, I know.) Point being...the disc is awesome. Soooooo straight for a driver.

Some people were comparing it to Lat's Warship. Anybody thrown both?

You sure about the bee name? Those seem to be limited to midranges, and this is a Fairway Driver.
Is this definite? Mark Ellis posted on DGR that he said it felt like a midrange to him.

This is what I'm curious about. Just eyeballing the pics of it, it looks very Warship-like to me. I'm wondering if this is kind of a Nebula redo for DC, it kind of sounds like a sleeker, less overstable Nebula from what (little) I've read.

I should have mine in hand tomorrow, I hope it is warship like.

second vote for bumbly bee

Man I hope not. Bumbly Bee sounds like a disc Mr. Bean would throw....

Stinger sounds like a disc Chuck Norris would throw....

hmmm cross between a buzzz and a stalker

Killer Bee?

my source is purely a friends facebook post and picture

bamm - let us know

Will do, will be Sunday before I'm back. Playing Hawk Hollow and the Blockhouse tomorrow. Tee off at HH at 9:00 and ending with Tiki rounds at the Blockhouse until probably 10:00...........................

Shame they probably wouldn't be able to name it the Tracker Jacker...

That would be really awesome!! haha. The Hunger Games!!!!!!!! Amazing book.

I thought the Stalker was supposed to be a longer faster buzzz.. I am not understanding what this disc is. Some say it's like a Buzzz (faster, longer), others say it has a slight fade at the end, and I also have been hearing it's comparable to a River... Now those are 3 very different discs.

I haven't thrown one, but Discraft describes it as a hybrid driver. It does have the weight range of a mid though. Maybe Mark can convince them to change their classification. If they do go with the bee theme, what about a yellow jacket?

In my humble opinion, it flies more like a faster TI Buzzz. Put a baby hyzer on it and it will fly dead-straight. But flat will track a bit right (RHBH).

I had 171 ones from my ace race. for me, they felt the same speed as a stalker. When thrown hard they would come up a little bit from hyzer and then have a dependable fade out. Thrown flat (or close) hard they would track right and fade out late in the flight. Thrown on a deliberate anhyzer, the disc would hold its line nicely and try to fight out late in the flight. If the disc is torqued on it will flip fast. If the disc is thrown nose up, it acts considerably more overstable. They above is only true if the disc is thrown with some decent snap. Lower powered throwers had difficulty getting the disc to move from its launch angles. Even when thrown with lower power, the disc still resists fading out until late when turned over or anhyzered. For reference, my max golf D with a Teebird is 375.

My Max D with my 166 Leo is around 300, my Buzzz is around 225. I got a 167 Ace Race disc and it has a flight pattern somewhere in between these 2 discs with distance for me around 250ish. YRMV
