[Discraft] The Challenger has arrived!!

Thanks bro I appreciate it and as for the putter pocket it will and does hold 2 putters, the production run pocket will move slightly further down and allow for a better fit to allow the putter to sit lower, a small change that we will make.

Production costs are $100 or more for a backpack bag with high grade material and machine cut patterns so please believe me, I'm not in it for the money!! That's why I have a day time job. Most people have no idea how much it takes to make and sew a quality bag.

Thanks for that. Like I said, it might have just been higher costs than I was guessing. Quick question, are these made in the U.S.? I know tooling and everything costs a ton, plus early production, so regardless of where they are produced your production costs will be high, just wondering if they are made in the U.S.

I like that there are smaller companies producing these bags. I just find the cost ridiculous from a consumer standpoint. The market is obviously there though. Would probably take a larger scale manufacturer to be able to produce these for significantly lower costs.

Or a little bit of your spare time. If you're unsatisfied with the prices of the current offerings, make one yourself. There are several threads here where people turned an off the shelf backpack into a disc bag.

Our bags are made in the US. I believe in keeping jobs here in the states and the quantities or disc golf are very small since we are such a niche sport that other than the big companies like Innova, discraft etc that subsidize there manufacturing costs with disc sales it becomes difficult to outsource for us.

I do appreciate all the response and feedback and like I said before most guys do this stuf for the love of the sport and not for the money. With that said would there be a market for a 15 disc capacity backpack that sold for $80-$100 bucks in a lesser grade material with a putter pouch and two pockets?

Or what would you like to see our next bag be like?

Don't let the haters get you down Chris! Haters always gonna hate.

Always be pushin. If you got 10 haters, you better get 20 by christmas!

Looks like a sweet bag, but there does seem to be a large space in the disc compartment where it doesn't seem like anything could be stored.

Dan the reason behind the space in the main compartment is to make sure there is not doubt in getting disc in and out. I have read and seen backpack bags that have either a sagging upper compartment or small opening making it difficult to get your discs in and out. It also allows the back of the bag to cover a larger surface area to help disperse weight over a larger area which is why this bag is so comfortable for all sizes of players.

Btw the Katt Williams quote is awesome!

Yes! As long as it's actually a backpack style. All the backpack style bags are 175 and up. Putting one in that price range would be a killer. Make sure it has at least one drink holder as well. Use a strong material on the bottom though..then use a lesser for everything else.

Good info about the bag. We are going to start working on a smaller less expensive version in the future after we get our first run Challys out.

Any certain colors you guys want for a smaller bag?

Pre-orders will be ordered at the end of this week and you can look forward to seeing them in 3-4 weeks. Remember this is the only bag designed by a Doctor of Physical Therapy with a specialty in low back pain and biomechanics and has been playing dg for 10 years. This is also the only bag with a lifetime warranty that you don't have to pay more for multiple colors and that has free shipping and retails for $199. Get your order in before the end of the week and receive the bag within a month.

When you think about how "colorful" and diverse a group DG'ers are, it seems pretty strange that most bags are essentially one or two colors. How about a genuine splash of color (4 or more in a single bag)? Maybe tie died bags? Or each pocket/section a different color (kinda like what Fade's first Psyco bags looked before they changed the color combo after a while)?

just my $.02.

Not knocking this bag or price, but why are disc golf backpacks so expensive, when there are plenty of other back packs, and back pack style bags for other sports/activities that cost fractions of the disc golf bags, and are just as durable?

The simple answer is that the sport is so small that the quantities needed to drive the price down are non existent. The only way to keep price down on backpack bag is to make it simple with only one or two pockets and out of cheap materials. However everyone wants a bag that has multiple pockets, materials, and colors which all adds up into labor costs having to cut different patterns on different colors as well as make a functioning product to meet the goals of disc gofers.

All in all until the sport goes main stream it will be relatively impossible to make a great bag for less than $150.

Would there be a market for a simple small backpack with 2 pockets and different colors for around $80-$100?

I agree with you but to make multiple colors it means cutting more patterns which adds into costs, with that said we are working on a small backpack that meets those needs.

Hey Guys check out the new Challenger BackPack Bag by Physical Flight disc golf. This is there top of the line bag with a lifetime warranty!!

This bag has all the features that you could want: Its got disc space for up to 30 discs, stool pouch, umbrella pouch, full size mini pouch, dual putter pouch, and internal cell phone/wallet pouches and lots of other stuff. BTW the entire inside of the bag is water proof and there are feet on the back part of the bag that act as a wedge and keep it from tipping over.

Check em out at www.physicalflightdg.com Chris told me he is only pre-ordering 100 and he already has 20 pre orders and btw you can choose from multiple colors. Price is $199(shipping included). Support a great guy and newer company.

By far this is the lightest and most comfortable bag that I have ever had on and the owner of the company is a physical therapist so he takes balance and comfort in his bags very seriously.

I took the pictures off there facebook and website.

Sexy bag.

I appreciate the reply fellas!! We will continue to try to make bags that people want. Our smaller backpack bag will be priced to sell and have custom colors while looking similar to a smaller version of our Chally backpack and hopefully will be what people want!
