So for a newb that has a tendency to make some bad throws into the woods from time to time and some deep rough.....what colors are easiest to find?

I'm assuming lighter the better, yellow, orange as dayglow as possible. Anything that's not as obvious?

Pink.
I rotate discs out of my bag during seasonal changes, i.e., removed orange discs in the fall, white discs during winter snowfall, etc.

pink!! good for all seasons wont hide on you in the leaves in the fall. white is good for everything but winter golf.

Everyone seems to like pink which would explain why it can be tough to find. I know I was throwing my Ace Race disc last night, its orange, and as it got dark it was almost glowing it seemed lol.

It all depends on the conditions. If it's Spring or Summer and everything is green, you can spot a bright orange disc fairly easily. But as the seasons begin to change and you get a carpet of Fall leaves, orange can disappear pretty easily. Bright pink is almost always easy to spot, and I find white to stand out pretty well. Blue can be a good color, too - mostly because you don't find a lot of blue in nature, so it tends to stick out. However, it has to be a bright blue, as dark blue can be too dark to spot easily in the shade.

Pink is pretty easy to see, but I find Blue is the easiest. There's just not much a basic or light blue can blend in with on the ground, so it stands out really well. Yellow, orange and pink are great as long as it's not fall.

No contest. Bright pink. There is no florescent pink in the woods. There can be oranges and yellows etc (especially in New England). I have been slowly converting to pink as I loose discs. I'm about halfway there. There are people on here who can show you a pic of their competition bags with all pink discs.

On that note, All: Feel free to PM me your bright pink Innova thowers (destroyer, gator, stingray, wraith, etc)

however blue is hard to find in the water... :wall:

the longer the wavelength of a color determines essentially how "easy" it is to see that color. if you go down the color spectrum you have a list from longest to shortest wavelength.

ROYGBIV - here you can see that Red has the longest wavelength and is easiest to see while Violet has the shortest and is the hardest color to see.

Now you combine that knowledge with the environment of the courses you are playing. If you're in the woods you'll want brighter more neon colors that contrast with the dark earth tones of the woods. So naturally you start with Red and make it brighter which is Pink. Next you would have a bright or neon orange and then the popular Dayglow Yellow.

Of course the seasons and environment of your course changes all of that. Though I would always start with the idea that Pink is your best bet unless you're in a Dogwood forest that has pink blossoms.

Pink.

 I also rotate my discs based on seasons, welcome to Michigan DG!

I basically have duplicates of my favorite discs and buy them in Blue and in Orange. For Spring and Summer, either one will work so I just go with whatever feels the best.

I switch to Blue only for fall, as the leaves have so much yellow, orange and red in them my blue stands out. Then back to Orange for Winter golf, as the blue doesnt do as well in the snow and sky reflection off the snow being light blue.

For me, the ones I avoid are Green, White and Black. Green is obvious. White tends to reflect its surroundings, so toss it in green bushes it can reflect surrounding colors and appear to blend in. Black, just too hard to find in shadows, woods, etc... Most those apply to my drivers, as I see a lot of blind holes and drives. Rarely if ever lose sight of my mids and putters, so no color restrictions on them.

I mean You can see this too

Yeah I hear that. If its anything like ball golf though you get a disc under a good pile of leaves and it doesn't matter what color it is. Cant tell you how many golf balls Ive lost like that. You got a better chance of stepping on a disc though then a golf ball.

CAN YOU SEE THIS?!

I rest my case.

Lol right

I like white outside of winter. Orange is great outside of fall. Bright blues are good, unless its near water

Another vote for hot pink. White is good too unless you live in a snowy climate.
