The Vibram Birdie Bash!

I'm leaning towards Obex/Summit for the Columbus Birdie Bash, and Trak/Sole for the longer course in Toledo. At some point I want to catch up with you Crow, so I can try your discs and lock in those preferences, but there's no particular rush.

How long are you West Coast TD's waiting for your TD disc packs? I ordered mine last Tuesday and I am getting antsy, because I want to go try them all out! Actually, I also want to go out on warmer days and let more casual players try them and and sign up for the bash.

Mine got in today. So many awesome discs. I'll add a pic later. Definitely a few worthy of the Vibram Porn thread.

The Birdie bash tshirt

These were just posted, i really hope these are the shirts!

I like them both!

My Birdie Bash is on the schedule! May 11, 2013. Ballou Park #2 in Danville, VA. Now I just have to get the Parks and Rec on board. :) Looking forward to running and playing in this thing!

Well if you don't care about making a profit, tell them you will donate all money back in park. That is what I'm doing. Our course is only 12 holes. All extra money minus food and player pack bonuses will go back to buy another basket

i'm typically not a fan of red, but those red shirts are pretty sweet. the black is nice too, but the red really pops.

I am running my bash in an area dominated by innova players with some discraft thrown in. Players keep asking me what this vibram disc is compared to innova. Can someone help me? I am a mix bag player who is average so my guessing would be wrong. I mean I've kind of grouped them for the players saying ascent/trak will be in your leopard/teebird area. Ibex and obex would be in roc/buzzz area.

Lace-glidey destroyer
Ascent-worn Teebird or fresh TL
Trak-Eagle-L or a pretty work Gazelle
Obex-Roc
Ibex-ummm..this is a tough one. Cobra, maybe?
Ridge-Innova really doesn't have anything that compares to this
Summit-same here...pretty unique
Vp-Rhyno or Pig
Sole-worn JK Aviary or possibly Classic Aviar

Hope that helps a little. I will say those aren't great comparisons, but can give your players a basis. Vibrams discs are very unique.

I have been playing the the Lace for a few weeks. I would agree with glidey destroyer, but only a very, very beat in destroyer. The Lace has no where near the stability of a new destroyer.

I have people asking via email if they can switch their disc selection. Is there a way they, or I can do this?

Local vibram Disc talk:

Ibex: Some locally see it being a touch under stable (referenced a BuzzzSS, others see it as straight, yet others have mixed feelings/results. Most seemed to note decreased perception of glide.

However, the best synopsis was that it seems to be in the category of mids that get espoused as "good at showing form flaws" ...so maybe neutral with a tendency to be unforgiving.

Sole-worn JK Aviary or possibly Classic Aviar,

I think the medium sole is similar to an old school Rubber Putter. Same mold and made from rubber. Lightening Disc should change the name of the current RP to Plastic Putter

They can email the guy who runs iRegistedOnline.com (forgot his name...sorry) and he can switch it for them. They have to do it before your event sells out though.

It's Terry Miller. He's probably out in Arizona right now for the coverage of the memorial, so if you don't hear from him for a few days don't be alarmed.

Use: terry(at)iRegisteredOnline.com

My co-TD and I both received our TD Packs recently and while the discs look and feel amazing, almost all of them are very lightweight (<160-165g). Those of you who have received your 9 discs, what weights did Vibram send?
