[Innova] Innova guys: Anyone prefer the Eagle over the Teebird?

i prefer Teebirds but no reason you cant have both in the bag.. for me the Eagle-X is just a teebird that fades harder at the end of its flight.. i have thrown them in the past where i needed a Firebird Jr. type shot and the teebird wasnt enough.. now i just carry a old kc pro teebird but if i lost it i would prob just go Eagle-X. I could see it going better with Leopards then the TB but i just like TB too much for me to test it out lol

I throw Star Eagle-X's as my only fairway. Had Champ and DX Teebirds in the bag for a while, never really took. My beat Eagles will hold an incredibly long turnover, my seasoned ones will hold any line to the ground, and new ones are great when I need something that'll finish strong.

Since I've got some backups beat in now, I think I'll try a Star Teebird in the bag instead of my next Eagle, see if it finds a place. From what I recall when I switched to Teebirds for a little while, I missed the length of the Eagle and how it'll push through a slight hyzer release instead of holding the hyzer.

I used both for quite a few years. Eagles make a beautiful, natural S-Curve while Teebirds are just straight, straight, straight. I never had an Eagle-X that faded MORE than a Teebird. Definetly had some that faded AS MUCH as a Teebird though.

I have always prefered the Eagle over Teebird. Found it to be more versatile and deal with the wind alot easier. been considering putting one back in the bag, but the new batch of Eagle-Xs are so much more overstable than the 11x I am hesitant (like mini firebirds).

Eagle-Xs really remind me of KC Rocs in their ability to "surf" the OK wind. It's probably just because I have a slight feel for how they fly, but they just seem to behave like I expect them to! L to R tail wind? Throw a big anny out left and let it ride the wind right toward the basket! Also, my E-Xs are surprisingly good forehand roller discs as well...

I like them both, but have been slowly replacing my eagle with my teebird. but it is just how I use the eagle I guess. I should try playing a round with only my eagle and see how it does.

I started out with teebirds but i moved to eagles because i liked the extra stability and i liked being able to hyzer flip it but i recently got a teebird and it is so money i'm now a teebird guy. I feel like they are not similar discs. i would throw both but in different situations.

I find this ^ interesting in that the EXs compared to TBs that I've thrown in the same plastic, weight, and roughly the same stage of wear have ALL faded MORE than the teebird in similar conditions.

I see you throw the TB and TL. The TLs I've thrown were stable out of the box but half the fade as a new TB. I've thrown seasoned TLs that were stable with no fade similar to my well loved TBs and I've thrown a couple beat star TLs that were stable to turnover with little to no fade unless given a fair amount of height or decent hyzer similar to my seasoned QJLS.

Does the TB beat into an overlap with the TL for you?

I used to throw eagles over teebirds, but that was because i had a stack of 11x Eagles and a couple Champion Editions.. nothing beat them as far as accuracy, durability, and ranging.

I realized i wasn't going to be able to replace them eventually and so i sold them all for a nice profit and decided to try some MVP, since then they have served me very well, im quite committed to their products now and the Proton Volt they just released is EXACTLY what i wanted in the volt to be in the first place when i replaced my eagles!

If i could get CE eagles at $15 a pop i would go back to them any day... but MVP is doing a great job with the volt and it was easy to switch over to from the eagle, so i see no need to change whats working for me now.

Yeah. Eagle-Xs definitely have more LSS than TBs...

This is what i liked about the eagle, it could go so straight like a teebird, or even flip a little depending on the plastic, but ALWAYS that strong finnish that made it easy to range them.. by far the most enjoyable fairway driver i ever threw from INNova.

Someone needs to invent MVP fanboy repellent and start applying it to some of these threads.

I have no use for TeeBirds, Banshees, or Leopards because I pair my Eagles with Eagles.

That's the beauty of the Eagle, it's super versatile and works great for folks like me who want to keep their bags pretty simple. If your more of a one mold for each shot kinda guy, you'll probably like TeeBirds better. With Leopards or Banshees or Rivers or Xls or Cheetahs or whatever other molds.

I like to limit molds myself (I cycle Destroyers & Rocs) so I'm interested in trying to do the same with Eagles. What plastic/s do you usually throw your Eagles in?

I cycle Destroyers and Rocs as well. Star Eagles beat in at a nice rate--slower than Star Destroyers, faster than KC Rocs, and about the same as DX Rocs. DX Eagles aren't stable enough to start with and move through the sweet spot too quickly. Champion Eagles beat in too slow for me, I'd worry about losing them after all that work.

You know I used to not actively dislike MVP, but from the Atlas thread and all the crap it unleashed, I will never pick up one of their molds.

I had a nice glow DX Teebird. Loved it out of the box, but being an OAT monster last year I put it into an abyss. It had already lost a bunch of HSS for me at that point. (Admittedly, my form did, and still does, suck)

Now I carry an Eagle X (SEX FTW) for that healthy fade and a Volt for go-straight duties. Just don't see the need for a Teebird. Beating in the new Circle Stamp Champ Eagles is a labor of love. I love to throw the crazy thing!
