If I recall correctly, delaveagabeast said he had to pay shipping to send it to you guys, even though that should have been covered by the warranty. I would imagine you could help him by refunding some shipping costs, unless I understood him wrong.

So 50-100 bags out of 1000 are expected to be defective? I really hope that number can come down, because that is huge when you look at it from an actual number of bags standpoint. Yowza. I wouldn't like my odds if I were purchasing, personally.

Our warranty policy on the website states that the customer pays shipping to salient and then we pay to send it back to the customer.

As for the second part of your post I talked about the changes we are making above we have changed manufacturers because we are not happy with the quality the old manufacturer produced. The defect rate was too high for any company new or old. The change in company will bring this number down a lot. As I said being perfect is impossible but we will strive to be as perfect as possible. The 5-10% is not acceptable to us. Granted that does not change the past but we can only focus on the future.

How often people also forget about how they treat their customers and potential customers. I don't remember exactly who it was, (I am sure someone around here does though) but as I recall they called or email you directly. They were called little and insignificant. That ring a bell?.

I have been following this thread from it's inception, and there's no way in hell I'd buy these. If you want Solomon rip offs, buy just that and save your $$$.

I must say that ScottP has been doing an excellent job on repping the company though. It's just too bad that he has to back up everything the owner comes on here and spews, accurate or not.

If only it were Scott that owned the company, as it appears at least he has the intentions to answers the questions correctly, without belittling the customer in the process.

That looks almost exactly like what happened to my Flak very shortly after I got it. I emailed Wes and promptly got a phone call back with apologies and a promise to send me a new Flak 2 with no additional expense incurred by me. The sent me the new bag a short time later and told me to keep the old one, no charge. That is how you do customer service.

Thank you very much for what you said above, it means a lot that you think that. I will admit I could probably never own a company but I guess you never know for sure until you do. If I did though I'd have someone like me on here and not on here myself. As a owner I'd treat the company like a part of my family. If someone said something bad about it I'd probably get upset even though I know you can't do that. As I said though I am only guessing as I don't own a company.

I will be honest with everyone on here. I am just a 25 year old from Maine. My loves in life are my fiancé, ice hockey, disc golf, and auto racing (I am a spotter for those of you that follow racing). When I do something in life regarding any of the above things I give it 110%. I am here to help anyone on here. I don't do this for me, I don't do it to hear people say nice things, I don't do it because I have nothing better to do. Trust me guys I have plenty of things to keep me busy. I do this because I love the sport, I do this to see new players pick up a disc and smile after their first 18 holes.

I knew what I was getting into back in December when I got involved with Salient. I really do want to see Salient succeed and grow. I want to see players carrying Salient bags on their back, wearing Salient shoes on there feet, and throwing Salient discs. I am putting my heart into this adventure with Salient. I will NOT sit here and lie to anyone on here, if it sounds like I am doing that at some point please let me know because knowing me with as bad as I write I probably did not imply what you think I did.

All I ask is please hang in there and consider giving Salient another try. I'm not asking anyone to go out and buy a bag or buy some shoes. When we come out with our next discs all I ask is give one a try. I'd like to gain a reputation on here as being a truthful person so I can test a disc and tell you what I think without it turning into "your a rep of coarse you think the disc is awesome". If I have some extras I will be more than happy to send some to a few of you guys who I see in here all the time. I don't care if you have never said one nice thing ever. I will still pay out of my own pocket the money to ship you a disc so you can tell me what you think. If anyone wants to talk to me about this message me or email me. I am dead serious about this guys, I am not looking for someone that is looking for free product. I am looking for someone who wants to be honest with me.

She is very happy with her bag and it seems to be holding up just fine, however she only plays once a week, not once a day.

ScottP props to you for putting yourself on the line like that. I don't think anyone on here can, would, or should accuse you of lieing. You seem to be up front and as helpful as possible. The problem is sometime it comes off the wrong way because you can only give out the info you are given.

As far as giving Salient another chance, it's possible, but they already have 2 strikes against them as far as I am concerned. I have held and thrown the Prometheus. That disc was nothing close to what it was described to be. It was an overstable meat hook that was entirely too large to be comfortable for me. Yes the plastic felt good, but a lot of companies make good feeling plastic. I base my opinion on performance not looks or feel. The other strike I speak of is how I was trolled by Salient when I created the UB thread. (It honestly came off like they are upset because UB was announced as making discs before they got to make their announcement) It was less than 24 hours after I made the announcement that they made theirs. And they continuously trolled my thread trying to make UB look bad and themselves look good. Making statements similar too, everyone can copy a mold and make a disc, but we are revolutionizing the game by making something unique. It's really hard to like a company that comes out the door belittleing another "new start up company"

You are right in so many ways. The Prometheus is way more stable than we ever wanted it to be. It is now more of a utility/novelty discs. The liquid and cryo plastic is a nice blend for sure and yes a bunch of companies make nice plastic. I personally think the combination of the plastic blend and the performance of the disc is what makes a disc a true winner.

There is not much for me to say about the UB/Salient deal. It happened and I am not going to say it didn't what I will say is that it was not right and it never should have happened. You will see that I rarely will post in a thread unless I created the thread because the threads I create I would consider the official threads and therefore that is where I belong. I am truly sorry that your UB thread got "littered" (not sure if that's a good word for it) and I can't fix that at all. The fact that it did happen and you are still in here reading what is going on and taking the time to post truly means a lot to me personally and I thank you for that.

I've found literally every wide rim driver I've ever used to be way too overstable for my liking. Not everyone can get appropriate amounts of spin and disc velocity to make them fly well/ correctly.

I had people try my Prometheus that can throw over 500'. It rarely went further than 400'. Thing was huge and unwieldy. The Antidote sounds REALLY intriguing though.

As the guy who was given 3 testers by Chris for trolling trolls in the original thread, Salient is doing way better with just Scott here. :thmbup:

I did find that the Prometheus limited my distance when I tested it, but I do tend to need something more stable for my snap. The plastic of the antidote looked super sexy, though.
