Most Courses Played in a state you haven't lived

9 in TN, 11 in SC. I live in NC, so no big woop, really.

What's messed up, though, is I'm realizing I've never played a course in VA...?

Don't really mean to thread jack here, but the original question got me thinking how many of us course baggers pick up states on trips just for the sake of the states played achievement?
My response to the original question was 42 courses in KY, but I'm a little ashamed to admit that I've got 10 states with only one course played.

I bagged NM and TX a couple years back on a cross country drive back home after a year living on the west coast. other than those 2, I usually grab a couple/few courses while on vacation somewhere.

I haven't done so yet. But I have some plans in which I would do this. If I get out to Pensacola I will probably cross the border to play on in bama.

And if I drive up north I'd likely play one course each in MD de nj and pa. If I'm going to play 3-4 courses that day, they might as well be in different states

57 in Colorado (only live ~25 miles North of the border)
44 in Iowa (used to live in MN)
33 in Nebraska (course bagging on my way to SD or MN)

I do it whenever possible. All my trips since I've been throwing haven't allowed me to take a day or two to go throw...I've really had to squeeze in time to even get one course. I take it as a challenge to figure out how/when I'll be able to throw. I'll be grabbing a course in MA in June, and trying to figure out how to get to bradharris's neck of the woods to bag NH. Might have to rent a car for a day.

I've played 102 in Wisconsin, played almost all of those while living in Illinois. It's ahead of two other states where I've actually lived (CA - 90 courses, IN - 62 courses) and only behind IL (160 courses) on my list.

13 courses bagged in Colorado for this Michigander, 31 in the home state. Sprinkle in 3 in VA and 1 in PA should have me sitting on 48 total.

based in Maryland

Played 64 of the 126 courses in Pennsylvania.
Played 49 of the 89 courses in Virginia.

39 played in Illinois, almost all of those in the Chicago area. :\

I just realized that I used to live in IL.

It was, however, a good 15 years prior to me picking up dg so I'll let it slide. :p

either those 6 are the states youve played the least in, or youve lived in a lot of states

Actually, I'm a little surprised there are states he hasn't gotten to yet. It's just a matter of time for him!

ive played 25 in nc which is more than my home state

I've played 27 in South Carolina, but I've lived ten minutes or so from the NC/SC state line for all of my disc golf "career". I have 6 in Florida and 4 in New York though.

Interesting thread, thanks.

I'm guilty of this in a way. My excuse is that my son is young, so we need periodic breaks on roadtrips. Last summer, we roadtriped to NYC for my cousin's wedding. I picked courses based on proximity to the highway, and a max time on the road of 3 hrs at a time (with the exception of the initial 11 hour overnight run while he was sleeping). We ended up playing a bunch of easy 9ers because they were convenient. I did squeeze in Maple Hill though.
