Best portable speaker for music during a casual round?

I recommend a nice set of earbuds...because not everyone wants to listen to the same music

I have bought some cheaper Bluetooth ones for job sites and been extremely impressed with what $20 can get you these days.. too loud really just read specs for output and range/signal

You put it a lot nicer than I was about to.

"Nobody wants to hear that sh1t you call music!"

Better?

:D

Oh, and...

Answer the question or butt out. Listening to a song you don't like won't kill you. . If you're that sensitive YOU bring ear buds. Sometimes it's fun to rock out with a group of friends while playing a casual game of frolf. As long as inappropriate material is muted around those who may be sensitive I don't see an issue.

On topic, HDX jam.

I bought this nice Bluetooth speaker from big lots and it was made by polariod 25$
Loud and long battery life.

I only play music if I'm playing a causal round with some friends and the course isn't crowded. Unless it's a bunch of chuckers because they're usually playing some crappy dubstep edm or whatever they call it now.

Also maybe I'm a grumpy a**hole, but the majority of the time the guy who has the music and speakers...

Has horrible music. Everyone on the course suffers so that dude can listen to robot sex "music".

I typically just use my Samsung S5's speakers. I keep my bag close, and the speakers are loud enough for me to hear but not so loud that it interferes with someone else's game or nature sound enjoyment. The only issue I've ever had with music on the course was a group of kids blasting gangster rap while I was out with my wife and kids on the course, other than that, to each their own.

Back on topic, I have a turtle shell and love it too.

Seriously, you are a giant d bag if you play music on anything else beside headphones/earbuds.

THANK YOU, Conor.

Seriously, guys. Luckily I don't see it much around here since I stopped playing the local pitch and putt, but it is an issue. Keep in mind, most courses are in public, multi-day areas. Have a little common courtesy. I'm shocked by how many people have thrown out answers, while being the same type of people who constantly talk about "growing the sport"

My suggestion for "rocking out with your buds during a game of frolf" is psych yourself up in the parking lot before hand
Your car has way better sound than any portable speaker ever will. And you can keep the doors closed for a richer, more complex sound.

Seems like I've seen a Bluetooth speaker that will fit in a bag's drink holder and has a speaker on top. Does anybody know which one I'm talking about?

Oh, and the other thing, I wear ear buds on the course and encourage others to do likewise. However, I am constantly amazed by what passes for music, played at volume by other people on the course. Really? You expect me to listen to THAT (much less enjoy it)?

But since this is a thread about Bluetooth speakers, I won't get into all that.

The best portable speaker will be one NO ONE can hear! I don't care if you like good music or crap, it doesn't belong on a golf course!!! Get a clue, ppl. You with the music playing need to learn common courtesy and course etiquette, or just quit playing altogether. I can't believe this is even a thread on this site. What a joke. When you are out there playing with your lame music on, just realize that no one out there likes it even if they don't tell you so. Do you also throw on holes where others are already playing, or let your dogs poop all over the course without cleaning up? Because its obvious you have no idea how to be a good fellow golfer
Unbelievably Lame Thread!!

^what if no one else is on the course?

I really hate high school football marching bands on Friday nights when trying to listen to the crickets.
