2019 Pros Switching Sponsors Official Thread

Paul famously bought the whole production run of those swirly destroyers he had aviar stamped. Wonder if those just get tucked into storage for future potential or what? He could make a pretty penny on each one very easily.

Auction one off a year. He'd make stupid money on those.

Pitchforks and torches for McBeth leaving Innova, but everyone is totally fine with Wysocki going to Innova?

You guys are weird.

Is it not bizzare for the biggest player in the game to leave the biggest brand in the game for seemingly no reason outside of someone else offered him more and they won't match?

Going to the biggest brand in the game when you are the second best player in the world makes way more sense.

I mean... no malice either way? These guys have to do what they feel is best for their careers and this sport isn't exactly on par with other american pro sports when it comes to top tier pay so, more power to them. It's all great for the sport and fun to watch happen, I'm excited to see what's next for these players.

I've seen Devan Owens bidding on some innova plastic lately. Probably just a collector, but figured it was worth mentioning.

Innova fans be like how dare you leave, and welcome aboard at the same time lol

guess which company has found a way to get all their loyal customers and collectors to buy a whole crap load more of their product...???

I think it comes down to the contract. If he gets a better offer from innova, and lat64 doesn't match, what's to consider?

Someone mentioned DD gobbling up the rest of the Trilogy manufacturers, at least in the USA, perhaps this is a potential fall out from that. hmmm.....

I think it'd be pretty cool if Rick went back to Innova.

Also, Drew Gibson is the only disc golfer I actively root against.

Why?

Gibson is a pretty nice guy. He's hard on himself from what I've seen, I think his putting really gets under his skin sometimes.

Because no matter what people say, the majority of posters LOVE Innova and HATE Discraft. It's pretty obvious if, like me, you've read every page of this thread since the McBeth announcement.

It will be interesting to see how the Innova fanboys respond if Ricky does sign with them...

At a minimum, it will differentiate the people that truly dislike him as a person/golfer, vs those that just dislike his sponsor...

^^ Well, I like Innova, Discraft is Ok by me, but I hate DD:D
EDIT: My comment was not in response to yours. They happened at the same time...

I don't think it's weird at all. Mcbeth has only ever been sponsored by Innova, and has been the face of them for years. You can tell by a lot of the comments at the beginning of this thread that some people thought Paul would never leave Innova. To hear he's not only leaving, but leaving for Innova's biggest competitor, and one that has been slacking in the pro sponsors and marketing departments lately, was a shock and seemed far-fetched.

I'm not familiar with all of Ricky's sponsorships, but I believe he was with Innova, then Prodigy, and now Lat64 for the last 4 years. To hear he's switching again, and that he is the #2 golfer going to the #1 company that just lost their main star, makes perfect sense.

I really don't get it. I started playing about 2.5 years ago, tried a few used discs and the Buzzz and Stalker were the first discs I bonded with. So I became a bit of a Discraft fanboy. Long story short, I tried a bunch of discs and eventually moved to a few Innova/DM molds for drivers. Still have multiple Undertakers, Surges and Thrashers in reserve and they are all great discs.

Switched to Roaches for putting a while back and I'm digging them. I also remain a defiant fanboy of Discraft mids.
