DGPT: The Memorial Championship presented by Discraft 27-Feb to 01-Mar-2020

It's like watching bowling scores roll in to see if anyone can bowl a 300 game (-18), or at least beat McBeth's round of 39.

happy when i saw that the live would start att 20:30 here in Sweden. . but now it´s changed to 21:30 :(
But tomorrow it´s friday and i can watch discgolf all night

how blue can the score card get? . . to blue

GG parked hole 9?! . . WOW. . only birdy on that hole and he parked it

I watched about an hour of coverage of the McBeth McMahon group and I am really impressed with the camera work and commentary. Between throws they do score checks, interviews, and an occasional commercial. The coverage is very similar to PGA coverage. A very polished product.

Have to agree. Coverage is getting better (only watched 5 holes), but it's still too boring for me to watch.

If anyone curious about the consistency in the ratings process at Fountain Hills, this course layout (a few different holes and better weather) played 2 shots easier (SSA 50 vs 52) than McBeth's record -17 round rated 1132. Today he shot -15 for a preliminary 1092 rating. Add two throws to today's SSA and shoot two better than his -15 netting 4 shots better. With 10 points per throw, we have 4 shots x 10 pts = 40 additional rating points that would be added to today's 1092. So, we get to the same 1132 he threw for the record.

So, today was 1092 and the record was 1132. Got it.

Not sure. You'll have to check the course map.

I tried to compare it to the map on here but its from '09 and isn't the tourney layout. If nobody else chimes in, i'll do a side by side with last year when the postpro vids come out

Ok I figured it out. I confused myself earlier by saying they took out the uphill no 5 then you rightly said that hole was no6. They took out hole 5 along the road. Which is the one with the basket tucked in the corner of the road and sidewalk.

...not a big loss really, its just too bad they had to add a short clown's mouth hole to replace it. Though its not like they had a lot of options.

Just going to post this chart. If any part of it is not understood;), I'll answer questions about it.

top 20 places combined for 2 bogeys, 1 double bogey, and 244 birdies. Disc golf is an easy sport guys.

Coverage was just good enough to pay for imo. Didn't expect it to be, so the quality is a nice surprise. The pace and tone of the commentary was on point. Not ever paying to watch this course, but it's nice they have an easy one to dial in their coverage. Will consider paying for Waco.

I like it!
Maybe put a mark for each hole, where official tournament par was set? Like a vertical black stripe through the color where par was set? Just For reference, so you can see the over/under relative to the empirical data.
