Paige Pierce #29190

I'm not surprised by this. I've seen her act entitled at my local putting league. She's the kind of person that only grabs her individual discs out of the baskets, while everyone else grabs the entire stack for the group.

PDGA's competition director is quoted in the paper exasperated about "these players" as though Paige is some cut line rando. Would've been a bad public look even if she were in the wrong. If the agent's statement is accurate, it's even worse. Either way, wondering how they'll mend the damage.

What's she gonna do, play on another disc golf tour?

The only CC I was ever a member of was closed on Mondays in the sense that only maintenance was being done, but members could play the course after some time if they walked or used a private cart. Cannot remember if it were noon or 3.

LIV Disc Golf?

I was gonna say they'd have to plant a helluva lotta trees... but with the pro game moving toward golf courses, I suppose desert courses are the logical next step. :\

I guess it'd be the XXXVI Disc Golf Tour (if you consider how the LIV tour was named).

what is there to even practice there

hyzer hyzer putt

im willing to bet there were plenty of open fields nearby she could have used

lastly its not like she pays attention to where ob is anyways

Finally someone who says what I always say!!! I hate the DDO now worlds being DDO 2.0. bore me to death. I guess they needed a way to put Eagle in contention.

A country club and its members threatening to call and actually calling the police because private clubs must be defended is very on brand. Good way to get someone shot, which they'd probably like. Anyone who threatens to call the cops in this situation (or most of the time) can't be taken seriously as a human being.

You'd think the PDGA would be more concerned about this but it seems most interested in continuing to build its large bank surplus.

Would be happy to never see a DGPT event or PDGA major at a country club again.

So I used to be a die hard Paige fan. Recently I can't stand her. I think the whole pay for my documentary thing started my dislike. She has become very entitled. I feel that King incident with Tartar was 100% a way to distract her so Paige could get the upper hand and win. I do not believe Paige said anything about it and just gloated about her win. At the end of the day yes you're a 5 time world champ and the goat of all female players... But you're still just a person throwing a round piece of plastic at metal. I firmly believe that any other FPO play would be suspended by now just like Nikko.

I thought people were using the term ,"country club" sarcastically, the place looks gross.

This is about all the got to call cops for in Emporia though.

This seems like an interpretation, or maybe a regional difference. Everyone around here just grabs their putters out of the basket.

Perchance some are reading too much into this?

Nah! This is the interwebz. If people can't overreact and make mountains out of mole hills here... I mean, that's why it exists, right?

Maybe Nikko, Paul and Brodie, and Jussi were just whetting our appetites for the main course:

Paige tried to practice when the course was closed, and she got run off.
It's right up there with Jan 6th.

You are completely wrong about the Elaine thing- Elaine was simply trying to be nice in what turned out to be a clumsy fashion. I have known her for 20 years and am 100% confident in this assessment.

As for Paige getting suspended- were it to happen the process would take a few weeks, same as with Locastro. It is not an overnight process nor should it be. I am not sure anything here rises to "suspendable" level however. Seems like a simple misunderstanding with maybe some salty language thrown in- unless there is a determination that a crime was committed I don't think I really want the PDGA trying to discipline players over such things that do not occur during events.

Eagle has won Konapista(sp), Idlewild, and the Beaver State Fling, multiple times. But, yeah..... Eagle can't play in the woods....

only one of those courses is helping your argument

I'm happy to hear that Paige tried using her status/money to try to get around set rules that other competitors were not having issues following. Says a lot about who she is (well that and making a movie about yourself when the other 'big money' contract people are working to get more disc golf into schools or installing courses in countries that don't have enough)

Maybe a little harsh...but you're not wrong.

The information shared with players clearly indicated that the course would not be available for practice that day. And the tournament management accepted the site with those conditions - and publicized them. Who's to say if she and Perk didn't read it, or decided to show up anyway...

It's also not completely unheard of for someone in their late-20's / early 30's to get a little righteous. And to lead with their ego when facing pushback (spoken as a father of two young adults).
