2022 Great Lakes Open

Nice i only looked in the tournament section. .

Nice to see Juliana with two Eagles. . a drop in Eagle on a long hole is not bad for a player like JK that is not known for her distance

This one was posted on general chat forum. Maybe a mod can move that convo here.

And Woj created this thread:

CONGRATULATIONS! You win the "prerube of the day" award. :p

Three threads about the same event is excessive, folks. I know following pro disc golf is going to be hard now without Nikko to complain about, but let's at least try to hold it together. :|

I think we could have held out for 5.

McBeth, Heimberg, Ellis and Klein on the lead card for Saturday. Interesting.

It's not like you can really practice this shot.

As Philo said,
It's knowing where the basket is. All feel, all touch.

Man is Paul snakebit in the last year?

If he hadn't pulled out a USDGC win, i'd say maybe.

I think this is just what elite competition looks like these days. It's pretty amazing. And it sometimes makes me want to go throw all my discs into the ocean.

I was scorekeeping on Corey's (Chase) card. His -10 was SOOOOO low key. He was just putting shots where he needed them without any fanfare. Just solid mistake free golf.

He showed no emotion when his disc fell through the basket at Beaver State.
I followed him quite a bit yesterday. He is one laid back dude.

It seems like McBeth doesn't bring his A game unless it's a big event. Is this a big event to him?

Also, it looks like Eagle isn't registered to play. Anyone know why?

Eagle's in Iceland this week, think he's going back to the states sometime mid-week.

We asked him yesterday and he said his current plan was Worlds and USDGC, maybe mvp/gmc/dgpt finals if he feels good but didn't sound likely.

That hole 5 looks so good and plays perfect. . the top 10 i R2 now have 3 Birdys, 5 Pars and two bogey or worse on that hole. . rare to have that good of a score spread at this level

Looked cool when it debuted last year with the mulch. Even nicer with the carpet of grass this year. Very inviting off the tee.

Really loving the course changes over the last two years.

Nice to see Simon near the top. Too many putts bit him yesterday

Simon sure have an odd scorecard. . most players have a handfull of pars. . Simon has none

What does filter mean in reference to a disc golf shot? It seems to be the new catch word on the DGN coverage, but they don't use it consistently enough for me to derive what they are referring to.

I was hoping Simon would make lead card tomorrow. Very nice of Kyle to help him out there. :\

Kudos to Calvin finishing strong today.
Looking forward to a great finish, tomorrow.

I think it pretty universally means any disc that manages to make it through an area that is somewhat unevenly obstructed. Whether that means tree trunks, branches, bushes, or overhead foliage - a disc filtering through is one that needs a bit of luck to get through where it did. It'll also be used to describe a disc falling from a tree - filtering through the branches being the ultimate deciding factor in how the disc lands on the ground.

In general it seems to just refer, no matter how tight or wide open, to any situation where a disc moves through somewhat unevenly placed obstacles.
