Dropped in to see what was up. Only decent thing in the used bin was a lightly used Cryztal Challenger, from essentialdiscs' tournament. For...24.99! What?!?! I was like "I can get a new one for 15 bucks, I'll give you 10"
To which he replies "sorry, can't, the manager priced that one"
25 bucks for a used cryztal challenger...wow. Saw an SE Roc for like $45...also used. I dunno what this guy is thinking...greedy bastard.

Sooo....don't buy discs at your PIAS?

The only time i've been in PIAS around here in Charlotte the used plastic was reasonably priced, 6 for used champion/star plastic. I'm thinking you've got a store manager that discs, and has a stick up his butt and isn't gonna get ripped off. I'm thinking added fees for convenience brings it up that high? IDK. Looking for idiots who are willing to pay.

He probably ebays every disc that comes in and tags it with the most expensive price he finds. Ive seen a lot of pawn shops do that. Not with discs, but whatever else they are selling.

He does disc...but he may have a skewed sense of price. The guy there tonight was suprised when i told him I could get a brand new one for 15. He was like "a limited edition one?" And I just said...dude, all the cryztal discs say limited edition...

Send Frank D in there to reprice all his discs and then go buy them all on the cheap!

dicks sporting goods is also a rip. The champ monarch in there is like Twenty bones. The dx darts are $10

i went to trade some disc for 8 star disc and 2 esp he said 14 bucks i said no went to wanna play and got 15 for 5 disc wanna play in roundrock rocks

I went to Jupiter for vacation and the three headed boondocks said, you can have one for two and I said; wtf, man, I just want to swim the channel.

Yeah, its on my way home from work...is there a better one around?

If you're willing to drive a little way (20 min or so), the PIAS that was on Glenwood Ave. moved to Sutton Square off of Falls of the Neuse. They JUST moved, so selection was limited when I went last Friday, but they have twice the selection and better prices than at Crossroads.

the dicks sporting goods near me isnt too bad for a dicks, about $15 for champ

I get used Star plastic for $5 all of the time, I guess you just have a bad PIAS. New discs are usually over priced, but the few used ones are reasonable.

The PIAS in Raleigh right off the highway, near the Chilis, has an inside man that snags all the choice plastic when it comes in, or so my sources tell me.

But you also got a NEW disc for normal price. Then removed the price sticker to find a USED price sticker underneath. IIRC, they did not refund the difference.

My local PIAS used to sell used discs for $5, but I think they've figured out some of them are worth more than that. Unfortunately, they don't really have a grasp on how disc pricing works, there is currently a VERY used, beat-in DX wraith priced at $8.99. Star Wraith, okay, $9, but DX???

I did run across a used 11X FB at PIAS the other day for $8.99, and they gave me $3/ea for a couple of used junk discs, so I got it for $3. I still check from time to time for a good used disc, and find one occasionally, but otherwise, just buy from the marketplace here or online at DGC.
