i get most of my discs from the marketplace, son.
Don't worry, I don't. I bought an x-out from there when I was starting out...then I found the GGGT, DGC, etc and the marketplace. which was bad. In the past week I think i've bought...12,34,5,678,9101112...12. ten discs. HOLY CRAP, I just counted them. No wonder my shelf is getting full and my bank acct is getting whittled away at. :doh:Do not buy discs from the PIAS at Crossroads, problem solved.
I played at Zebulon and found a maroon champion boss lying in the grass in plain site. I sold the disc and someone said who is sharky? The name sharky was written in maroon writing on a maroon disc. There was a part of a number, but it was unreadable for us to return it, plus I was already back to MD.
If you know Sharky, I owe him a disc.
Last time I was in there I saw that yellow SE roc for $39.99 and laughed out loud. The guy behind the counter asked me what was so funny and I said "the price" and he got offended.
No ****....I wish you had let me know you were playing in Zeb, I would have met you! Yep...Sharky is a local. Unfortunately, we kicked him out of the Zeb club for hitting out club president and knocking him to the ground. Like everyone says...karma is a bitch!
I can say this....we have managed to make a profit this year and give back more than ever. We had a membership appreciation day, free to play, cash prizes, we grilled out for everyone. We had a 'doubles point series' and gave out prizes. We are giving out bag tag awards at the end of the year with money already set aside. We gave out sandwiches to all attendees during lunch at a monthly, setup a halloween course.....I say this b/c we haven't had "great" turnouts...but amazingly, we've made a profit, improved the course, and followed through. This didn't happen in the most recent year.
We weren't given much to start with.....very small amt of cash on hand actually...and we inherited lots of Ching and Zing Rocs and double stamped discs. It was impossible to figure out what revenue should have been generated because it was never documented or paid out.
We are moving towards an executive board without Pres/VP/Sec etc. There will
be appointments by the city parks and rec and additional will be voted on. We
are going to keep growing. I think there's something about our events that
make everyone feel comfy and usually, fairly profitable. We've got a good disc
inventory....thanks to Kirk Yoo and Larry Leonardi. They've both supported our
club from the beginning and that makes a huge difference.
Not that bad a price for a rare Special Edition Roc,I have seen them go for $60+ on ebay and some people asking over $100.
Wow Maryland to Florida!!! What were some good courses?
